Halo 2 Expansion Pack on the way

Maybe the expansion pack will actually be fun huh? :| I wasn't really impressed with Halo 2 as a whole. It had its fun moments but it was nothing like they had hyped it up to be.

Unless they're re-balancing the entire MP game and adding more SP...count me out.

They are already going to add more BR spawns, what more do you want?

And by they you mean you ;)

Not to drift too far off topic, but anyone else notice that Halo 2 ended (spoiler spoiler spoiler) on a ship? So... that effectively means that it's safe to assume that Halo 3 (or 2.5, whatever) will begin... just like the others... on a ship.

Im guilty in believing and buying into the hype. Bungie failed to deliver though. I think the 3rd installment will be much better due to the next gen hardware. Bigger battles, better graphics.

I didnt really enjoy this as much as the first one, but I think im the onlu person in the world who was okay with the ending.

A game based on skill rather than weapon control. BR spawns will help a bit though.

Halo2 sucked I played it so I have a right to say that. The first few Levels were ok but the second half sucked and the City Level reminded me of Ps1 times... **** Bungie and M$

I agree completly, and the BR should help with that a lot.

What's BR? I've never played Halo 2, for I don't own an X-Box.

The Battle Rifle, kind of like the pistol from Halo.

Assuming you mean HL2, I'd have to respond with this:
Best. Ending. Ever.

I could care less about the SP. But yes, the MP needs to be seriously rebalanced. I really miss the plasma weapons' freezing effect, which made the plasma rifle unique, rather than a more-powerful-but-slower-firing SMG.

I also want the Brute Shot to actually do something. The bounce it makes is horrible, the explosion has a radius of about two inches, and it only holds 16 rounds total.

I didn't buy into the hype. I clocked the first Halo and liked it, then got Halo 2 and loved it. Seriously, try playing Halo 2 for a month, then go back to the original for five minutes, you'll see how much of an improvement it is. It's a good game, nothing more, nothing less.

I swear, people nowadays expect games to convert your console into an oven and bake you pie, then grow a pair of lips and fellate you while many tiny needles inject you with various drugs as you munch down on that sweet pie and thumb-twaddle your way through 150 levels of entirely non-linear open-ended squad-based online co-op FPS/RTS/RPG action/adventure mayhem. But I swear, even then, after the drugs began to wear off, and your belly grew large with pastry and mince, and your phallus grew limp and turned an odd shade of purple, just as you wore into your 200th consecutive hour of gameplay, you'd still come here and complain about how the devs hyped it unnecesarily and fell short on their promise of blueberry pie.

If we start with the BR and SMG...I might actually start playing Halo 2 again.

I wish they didn't noob-ify the game so much. They made sniping much easier to do - no leading anymore. The rocket launcher is better than ever...no more skill required in leading moving vehicles. Don't even get me started on the sword. The shotgun has been nerfed...it can hardly kill sometimes...I ruled with the shotgun back in Halo 1.

Every time I complain about Halo 2's balancing everybody thinks I just suck at the game. I don't :P Check my XBL record if you like. I do quite well - It's just not fun.

Other things that I hate:

RADAR in ladder matches - I despise radar and rarely look at it. It completely kills the stealth aspect in the game. I never played with it on when I played Halo 1 online and it was just fine.

Timed 1v1's - People get a few kills with the rocket launcher and hide for the rest of the game.

Take Ascension for example. This guy rushes the rocket launcher and blasts me with it as he's flying from the jump pad. I spawn -BOOM- I don't even get to move. I spawn, start running for the sniper rifle nearby -BOOM- Then I spawn and he's gone...I get a sniper rifle and shotgun (medium range I can snipe people unzoomed if I need to) and go looking for him. I look down at the rocket launcher area...nothing. I keep looking all over the place. Finally, there's like 30 seconds left when I finally see him standing down by the rocket launcher right next to the teleporter - he's at an angle where you have to be by one of the sniper towers to even see him when you look down there. He sees me and as I fire he moves through the teleporter as miss him. So the rest of the match is me trying to chase this little bitch down. I got 1 kill on him it's 3-1 and he's gloating how he is the best and how I suck... Every time I went to check the rocket launcher area he saw me on the motion tracker and took one step into the teleporter and repositioned. What a lame guy :flame:

You really should have played in some leagues like CPL or TWL, radar disabled, starting weapons were SMG and BR and only warthogs were used I think(like on coagulation you started with 1 chain 1 gauss). Oh and sniping is way to easy up close, but at a distance is gets impossible (like on coagulation).

Stealth aspect of the game? I'm a little surprised to hear that when referring to Halo.
Actually, when playing multiplayer my biggest pet peeve is that only half the time can you actually see who shot you, the other half he/she's just a dot or a smudge. (Is more TV's resolution's fault than Halo's)

You suck at the game...lol. What he means is using the map as an advantage, if the enemy doesn't know where you are you can make them make a mistake they don't want to.

Tell that to my friend Simon. Had a 3 player and made a point to give myself the big screen, and he still nails me across the map within 2 shots. And seriously, he's played it for about 10 hours total. You should see him on CS, was owning up with the scout within the first few hours of playing. What a legend.

I mean across the map on coag, a guy in my clan can get headshots on people in vehicles consistently, but he still can't hit people across the map.

The graphics sucked, the head wasn't all that good, and the drugs gave me side-effects like dizziness. And wtf was up with that flashlight? I give it a 1/10. :|

Well if the distance is the farthest you can possibly be in the entire game you have to start leading. Your average shot is simple. Aim for the head and you get it. In Halo 1 you had to lead all the time.

Not to mention the aiming slowdown has been ramped up from Halo 1. Lining up shots is easier no matter what weapon you're using.

EDIT:

Exactly. I can't tell you how many times we've screwed with the opposing team sneaking in and out of the base with the flag.

That and the actual stealth aspect. When you get invis it means nothing with radar. There's no sneaking up on people and hitting them in the back when you have a huge red blip to alert you. I know you can crouch-walk to stay off radar but that's still lame.

Halo 2 needed more dinosaurs. And less psychic plants.

But on to business now. Never really found anything special in Halo 2's MP. As i said (and i've said it before) it felt like the "special-needs" cousin of Unreal Tournament 2004. But its all personal taste in the end, as i like faster deathmatch compared to slower deathmatch. I really hope this is free because i dont want to pay $40 AUD for 9 more maps that i'm not gonna play, when i can get maps of less quality, but more substance of the internet for HL2DM or even Soldat.

but with that said, for some reason i still like the odd game of Battlefield and DoD every now and then. Its not as fast as Halo 2 or UT 2004, but its still alotta fun to nuke your friends with napalm, or to gun them down with an MG44.

Please bring back the AR. PLEASE. That thing was utterly wonderful. Especially in its appearance.

The AR blew man...if you came at me with that thing I'd pop 3 pitol rounds in your head or just bust a shotgun shell into your chest :P

When I first got my Xbox - everyone everywhere was going ape-shit over halo. I looked at the box and thought - it looks kinda crapy.

but everyone talked me into it.. The HYPE

So i buy it.
ITs pretty good game but . nah, soemthing is wrong with it.

Not fun

I didn't fall into the hype for Halo2. I have never seen that much Hype over anything in my entire life, and I'll pass.

Im sure its a good game but Not my style.

Im sure I would enjoy playing Half-Life2 about 10 times more

Hype ruins games.
For example 20 people told me WoW was the best thing on earth so i buy it.

Its truly great but, with all the hype it kind of made it feel less special than it is at first (BAD EXAMPLE)
Ill list some more games that Hype damaged:

Halo
Halo2
GT4
D3
GTA San Andreas

The MP game is seriously unbalanced... when i played (and i've palyd it quite abit with some avid xbox/halo fans) i've always thought... hmm, this just isnt counterstrike... i mean, atleast if you only have pistols in cs, if you have skill you have a chance... but in halo2, you are as good as dead.

Hopefully they'll fix the weapon spawns, i mean, the dominating player spawning with a rocket launcher and sniper/sword while you have 2 pistols, isn't fun.

the main problem with halo 2 is the matchmaking, they have made it impossible for matchmade games to be fun

Eh, I fail to see how Halo2's ending was any worse than HL2's ending....

Well, the problem isn't that Halo 2 didn't end. It's that it didn't conclude. It's like watching a really cool action film, and just as the movie builds up to the final conflict, the credits roll. Can you imagine how frustrating that would be if you were watching, say, War of the Worlds, or Star Wars?

On the other hand, HL2 simply had a kick-ass cliffhanger, with some actual plot-related information. It didn't stop just before you got to the Citadel.

I seriously cannot believe they are charging people for content, even over Live. I've heard them say this is simply to recouperate their development costs. I mean, FFS Bungie are rolling in Cash. Few games have ever sold more than Halo 2, and still they don't have the cash to spend creating 9 measley maps.

Here's just one example of why Bungie suck: Free Content and the Unreal Series.

Unreal:
Fusion Map Pack:
6 Maps

Unreal Tournament:
Bonus Pack 1: Epic:
3 Models + Skins
11 Maps
New Mutator

Bonus Pack 2: DE:
2 Maps
Bunch of Mutators

Bonus Pack 3: Innox:
6 Maps

Bonus Pack 4:
2 Models + Skins
10 Maps
2 updated UT Maps - a remixed version of the original Lament map and a slightly modified version of the infamous Facing Worlds map.

UT2003:
Epic Bonus Pack:
10 Maps
3 Gametypes
2 New special moves
New Announcer Voices
In Engine Music Player

DE Bonus Pack:
6 Maps

UT2004:
Editor's Choice Edition:
4 Maps
3 Models / 2 Skins each

Win XP maps (for some reason the installer was Win XP only - people just moded it so anyone could have them)
2 Maps

That's a pretty damned impressive ammount of Free Content. 57 Maps in the last 10 Years. I have all of these maps on DVDs somewhere. No one ever charged me for them, and the Unreal series never sold as well as Halo: Combat Ctrl+C Ctrl+V.

Bungie? Seems to me that their company is as overrated as their games.

I have a friend who would disagree with that, but then again he thinks that halo 2 and the x-box are the greatest.
no offense to him though he's a good guy

HL2's ending was way more sudden. But i just thought it was pulled off so damn well. Halo 2's just felt like any game's ending.

I wouldn't say it was way more sudden.

In HL2, the ending basically began with being captured and that scene in Breen's office. At that point you knew the game was drawing to a close.

In Halo 2 I fully expected another level. I was totally shocked when it came to an end.

I won't be paying for the content, that's for sure. I can wait 'till the end of the summer when they'll all be free. I did the same with SCPT levels. I never bought them, I just waited. I was hoping they'd add some more vehicles to the game or something :( I want an ATV and a human aircraft of some sort....and the old pistol back.
