Well, I've been playing the game for the last 15 hours. I spent like 5 hours on the SP, it's nice - but not mindblowing.

Anyway - for the next 10 hours I've been playing it's mp - and guess what? It's the best multiplayer component ever made. period. Intense, Fun, cool, fun....and did I say fun? ;)

Seriously, it pwns every xbox live game - HECK - every online rpg, mmporg, FPS, etc on ANY platform, including PC. Period, again. Counterstrike, bf 1942, ut2k4 all crumble beneath it.

This is coming from a person who is a big online pc whore.

Mind my over enthusiasm and spelling mistakes, but this game really pumps you up. :D

As a side note, I must say that the vehicle jacking in MP is the best thing ever to happen in video games.

Really? I thought MP was pretty fun, however the single player has been ummm slightly dissapointing, and I'm sorry but the duel weilding and the new weapon balance is shit. The rest is pretty good though.

Soooo jealous :(

*sits and waits till the 11th :/*

I personally think the weapon balancing in halo 2 is even better than the first. Like I said, I really wasn't flabbergasted by the SP - but the MP "roxors my boxors" :afro:

How hard is Legendary compared to the first?

How many people can you get on a server? And what special features are there in mp? I havent played Halo2, im just curious

Also, are the servers just other people on their xbox's, or are there now dedicated servers? Can't wait till Halo 2 is out here in the UK

I bet the SP is pretty cool. I say I bet because I keep getting a ****ing error message saying they are having problems reading my disc.

I'm never speaking to you. Ever.

And yes, I have played it. Got it at midnight last night and played a giant xbox lan party with a bunch of friends. Was an absolute blast =] It is, however, too slow of gameplay for me. It feels like playing in water.

Ditto.

But the MP does seem pretty good. Haven't played it live yet, only 1 x 1 with my bro. Tis fun using the dual wielding with 2 plasma rifles.

Just got off Xbox Live after like 3 hours. I wasn't expecting much rush at the midnight release here in Grand Forks, ND...small town and shitty area....but there were like 250 people lined up outside the local Gamestop. I was like the 80th or so. It took me like 1 hour total to get the game.

Anyways - XBL is a blast. I was playing with a guest so I couldn't get into any ranked games. Having just created a new account - I didn't have any friends yet...so we did some quick matches. They just match you up randomly with people around your skill lvl. They set up a random map with a random gametype. They were aweseome. Some were kinda lame actually because some were 4v4's with King of the Hill...and 1 minute won the game. They were obviously short. The maps were more fun than I thought they would be actually.

I don't really like the sword on close quarters maps. You can easily kill people with it and there's very little they can do about it (especially with motion tracker on). You just pop around a corner - R trigger - dead. They can also switch to the sword very quickly if they have a different wep. out. It's too easy to get kills with on certain maps. Other than that...no complaints from me. I had tons of fun.

This is what I was gonna post at 4am Central Time today, but my internet decided to die after I logged off XBL.

I just played today for like 3 more hours or so and had a blast again. There are some whiney bitches online though. One party I was in kept complaining when I'd get the sniper rifle and shotgun and rock out at one of the bases and pick people off. They kept bitching about how I'm so gay...and how sniping is sooo cheap. Then a couple of them would try to charge me and I'd kill them both because they're too dumb and they fumble all over each other and don't have a good approach. Ah well. That was just one party.

In ranked games I've reached lvl 5. I haven't played too many ranked games simply because it chooses gametypes and maps randomly...so I don't get to play what I want all the time or I might get stuck with players that have no idea what they're doing when it comes to assault even after I explain it to them 3-4 times. It's so much fun though. I can't wait 'till my friends get it back home and we make a clan or something.

Halo 2 has gotten 15 newsbits on my local newstation today and it's pissing me off. They'd better give 2x the coverage to HL2..... :flame:

Meh you'll all get bored of it eventually.

Jesus, cut it out with this ****ing negativity just because the game isn't Half-Life 2.

What? Honestly, what the **** is up with you and your ilk? Is HL2 going to have multiplayer that will last for the ****ing millenia to come? Or is Halo 2 such a threat to you that you feel the need to mock its success?

God dammit, people. Just let your stupid irrational grudges and get a ****ing grip.

I bet ALL the HL2 MODS coming out will PWN Halo 2 mp! Including CS:S, DOD:S, HL:S etc.. Just the facts people..

Ah facts... that must mean there have been experiments, or objective independent investigations into the subject that proved those facts, am I correct?

Well, the Insurgency Mod and the R&L mod for HL2 look awesome and aim at realism, which is my cup of tea.............so yeah

Halo and halo 2 ****ing sucks.I just did mock its success.

I advise you to play more fps games before you claim such a title.

No thats not it. I'm just a tad sleepy from all the people at my school pimping it like it was the next best thing to sliced bread. I'm not a person to go jumping up and down over the release of HL2 either. Every game is good I know that, so why do people need to keep shoving me mouthfulls of what they think?

I guess PC gamers are just use to a higher quality of gameplay and visuals.

Obviously, I'm sure we're all bored with plenty of awesome games.

Anyone played co-op yet??

yup, great fun, we were seeing who could do the best trick in the highway with the ghost etc.

Sparta, if you're still having that disk-read problem try taking it back to the store you got it from and exchanging it for a new copy. That's what i had to do, but it works fine now.

Yeah, I just got back from my friends house, played it there, I seriously thought quite a few times I was playing Halo 1. Then I'd snap out of it and be like oh yeah this is supposed to be Halo 2.

Are you retarded? There are so many differences, the HUD, the weapons are all different, the graphics, the maps and even the interface and controls.

i have an xbox and dont have halo2..

what is wrong with me? (nothing)

this is weird. I've heard the online is total shit. You aren't allowed to pick exactly what gametype you want like in Halo PC. It just puts you in one without picking anything.

I love the MP in Halo 2. I seriously am gonna play this for months. This SP is preatty awsome too.

Controls are almost exactly the same as halo 1 only difference is dual wielding, made so they had to make a few tweaks.

Maps should be expected in sequals, if they just had the same maps that would be retarded.

They changed the HUD OH NOES... basically the moved the health bar its still the same style.

Graphics basically are a little better texturing ang a few bumpmaps here and there, you can barely tell the difference from this and Halo 1.(Oh and POp-in is really annoying)

And the rest are just minor tweaks, seems more like an expansion pack than a whole new game, kinda like RCT2.

I haven't notices any "POp-in yet, but you have compiled quite a list of changes you obviously notices, nulling your original statment.

Single player is disappointing at certain parts.

Especially the parts where you play as the covenant.

If you haven't experienced any Pop-in yet then you obviously don't know what it is. It is when the world starts with very little details then the detail starts "Popping In" hence the name "Pop-in" I noticed it in like my first two minutes of play and it is especially noticeable during cutscenes. If you haven't seen this yet then awesome you must have been playing the magic copy of Halo 2.

All those changes are so minor they don't deserve for this to be called a sequal, more like an expansion pack, if you read the end of my post you would have noticed this.

Don't take him so literal. Obviously there are changes, but the feel of the game and how it's played is very similar. One thing I noticed after playing on a LAN game of H2, was that the folks who were good at Halo had no problem adjusting, while the folks who sucked at Halo played just as bad, but noone said it felt that much different than the original.

Edit: Not trying to say the feel being similar is a bad thing, it most definately is not. =]

Max Payne 2 had about as many or less additions than this game, did you think it should have been an expansion? Also, I have not seen any poping in in the gameplay, just the cut scenes and it is very hard to notice. I played halo 2 this morning at school, and my brother who use to be about as good as me was wasting me, and my friend who sucks was doing 2nd best. I kept coming in last every time, and I kicked ass at the original Halo, but by the end I was coming in first.

Quoted for emphasis, pretty much exactly what I am saying there are changes, yes, I am not denying that. Its just that they are so minor that this could have been done in an expansion. :dozey:
