When does a new level in halo 2 actually start?? does it start when the name of the level appears at the bottom right hand corner of the screen?? Thanks.

Since there's no real loading time, it's kinda hard to pick out level changes...but usually when a level subtitle shows up or a cutscene comes you have a new level.

Haha, you're gonna get so lost in HL2 ;)

(please no flames)

Isn't there a level list in the main menu or something? I remember each level in Halo were split up into different little "chapters"...which all seemed the same anyway, so it begs the question as to why the hell they do it in the first place...but still. :)

yes, there is a level list though when your playing, it flows seamlessly between the levels/story.

When the screen turns black for 3-5 seconds, and you hear stuff writing to the hard drive, that's a level change.

Nope, well not in the traditional sense. It's all from Gordon's perspective, but the bit in the E3 2004 trailer - "Wake up and smell the ashes" - looks to be non-interactive. But that's a dream or a hallucination, so you'll still be in character. There'll probably be parts like the end of the original HL too (won't spoil it... even though anyone who hasn't completed it deserves it :P) where you can still move around while it's happening but can't actually interact with it.
