What is so obsolete about halo? It looks pretty good compared to a lot of games out there. These amazing new games coming out are just that...coming out. They arent actually available yet.

I know this is blatphemy for a lot of people, but the game Halo rocked, the multiplayer is only average in quality. Not really anything to get exhited over.

In fact, it pales in comparison to some of the play styles in in RTCW.

where halo multiplayer really shines, is when you edit gametypes and play half-life. 50% health makes the game much faster paced and challenging. sniper rounds kill in one hit, two or three head/chest shots with pistol, melee takes down to 2 bars health. That is the way halo was meant to be played. toss in a tight competition FFA on prisoner and you'll be begging for more.

i agree that standard multi isnt so stellar for halo, but half-life deathmatch(or ctf) kicks any other multiplayer's ass. also try hl 5 lives. dont play anything else other than hl, except maybe some 400% health with no vehicles(throws a twist in, its wild).

it is also a lot more fun on lan

Well here's an idea if it doesnt work at all..

Reinstall the game, start it up, go into the main menu, click "Multiplayer", click "Join Game - Internet", and it will tell you if there is an update and will allow you to download and install and return to warthog madness! :thumbs:
