Yeah, fileplanet is lame I know. Usually I just leave downloads sit and go and do something else... like memorize the phone book or something.

It does. HL2 technically doesn't even have multiplayer, and the completely unrelated multiplayer it DOES have is a shiny rehash of a six year old game.

Don't get me wrong, CS:S is going to kick ass (I don't get HL2 until Tuesday), but Halo 2 has infinitely more options that don't require server-side mods or custom content. How many games of CS made you capture a flag, or drive vehicles, or play King Of The Hill? :)
 
I loved Halo1 but I don't know if I would stand outside in the cold just to play it early. Man, I love steam:)

Those can all be found in Quake, an even older game;)

Ah, but if you would have said Tribes 1, I would have agreed. :) Tribes one had everything Halo has and more... much older game as well.

...thought so.

anyway, i agree it will own, but the possibilities for HL2 multiplayer are endless. anything you can do in halo2 can me made in a mod for HL2... but then again you cant have 4 mates crowded round a screen shouting at each other eating pizza :) and theres no co-op ;(

That's pretty much how I felt when I first watched this.

They remind me of when I was 6, ignorant about what the gaming world was like (apart from games on the SEGA Genesis).

These are a rare breed of nerd. Those that wait for hours for the release of all but one game, but are virtually clueless about the rest of the gaming scene.

Wow. The movie is interesting, but notice they dont interview everyone. Which means, not everyone in that line was dumb. :D

This is cool, lets make fun of people because they're a fan of a game and willing to wait in line. How is that any different from some of us throwing anywhere from $50-$80 at Valve to prepurchase Half-Life 2 on Steam. Not actually waiting in line, but you get the fanboy point. If I had the time, I may have hit one of those line, why??? Because I find Halo 2 to be a hell of a good time, but get this, I'm expecting the same from HL2....WOWOWOWOOWOW.

So they haven't heard of CS, does that make them less of a gamer? Maybe they can't afford to drop the cash to play a game on a PC, or maybe they don't have the internet connection to enjoy some of the multiplayer offerings. Who knows. Who cares.

This sh!t needs to stop. On both sides of the fray. Can't just enjoy the games at our disposal, gotta keep dissin each other. "You like DOom 3...f@g"..."yeah, well HL2 sucks donkey c0ck." "So...the XBox blows hairy man nuts....consolers" So sad.

Uh, you know people have different opinions right? Not everyone is a hardcore PC only nerd. :stare: IMO, Halo 2 MP mops the floor with that POS excuse for HL2's MP. But seriously, you guys really need to get out of the house more. Not everyone games 24/7 on a computer. If you've ever been to real parties ( not LANs... ) then you would know this. Its fun to just chill out and have fun playing xbox and having a drink at the same time. I just went to a party last week and there were like 20 people taking turns playing halo 1 and madden 05 on xbox, even girls! Its just more fun than PC gaming....but social outcasts think otherwise. You dont have to put up with tards yelling " OMG!!! PAWNEDDD!!!!!!1111111" or " DUD YUR HAXXING!" and all that other BS. And i'm no XB fanboy, I have a A64 3400, 1GB 3200, and a 6800 GT :D I'm just more open minded than some of you losers :thumbs:

That answer about whether that guy likes wide open area or closed off canyon linear type gameplay, and he picked wide open, and he chose Max Payne 2 as an example. LOL. That was in my mind like a city canyon =P Restricted areas everywhere! Then again, HL2 will be very similiar, but i'm not making fun of the gameplay style, just the fact that guy isn't very informed about his games.

And the end, where that guy punched his friend in the face because he thought he'd get a free halo 2. HAHAHA, his friend is probably pissed as hell and he didn't even get a free halo 2. Muahahaha.

Totally agree with you, no pc mp expeience can put up with those kinds of parties.
