Halo: Reach Campaign Trailer

Good visuals, but I didn't get any sense of the story (if there is one).

Looks cool. One of the best things about this is I know they can't possibly shoehorn the flood into it and it shouldn't have ****ing brutes or those annoying insect things (though I wouldn't put it past them to insert them in somehow). Do you play as John in this or different Spartans?

90% chance I'm going to play this with my brother.

@0:48 - are players going to be able to fly the ships now?

Tbh, it still looks like halo.

Bright and colorful space marines with energy weapons and lasers aka Halo never was really that great to me. Halo 2's earth missions (the ones everyone hated) were the best part of the halo games. Singleplayer Borderlands is more fun then halo.

Aaaanyways. Looking forward to this hugely. Scaling difficulty in co-op and expanded and improved Forge and Firefight modes make me moist.

lolwat. I don't know a single person who played SP Brdrlnz for more than 15 minutes. I also don't know anyone who played coop Brdrlnz for more than 30 mins. Brdrlnz sucked.

I'm sorry, but the Earth-based missions in Halo 2 are objectively terrible. The rest of the game wasn't great, but it was still better than the first terrestrial third.

This actually looks pretty damn good, I loved the Beta.

Also, already lovin' Jorge. xD

I assume you would rather have brown and bloom or cell-shading then?

And yeah, this looks neat. It has 4 player co-op, if I heard right, so I'm gonna play a full party with my friend and his brothers.

This looks absolutely amazing. I'm thinking this might be my GOTY based on everything I've seen and played.

This also seems like it's going to have a lot better story than past Halo's, though the ending is already written / known

****ing sick of the sight of Halo.

me too.

i used to be excited for this when they promised proper change to this series but i played the beta and apart from loadouts and abilities (that are clealy just a halo take on perks) nothing has changed. Plus its very hard to go back to killing enemies with about a clip of ammo as opposed to much less in most games now.

This is funny. You complain that one game aping another's features makes it worse, and then complain that the same game being different from the first also makes it worse.

"The most anticipated game of 2010"

HHAHAHAH....... no

I'm starting to get tired of the console games. they bore me. PC games have always entertained me and have given me 10x the fun and replayability.

Gonna be ****in sweet playing this for the first time in HD. Not to mention the 500 replays.

You know what else is utterly unchanged to the point of boring me to tears?

This forum.

"Oh a Halo thread I will post a derisive comment in it without qualifying my opinion because HALOS LOL."

Well thankyou for the contri-****ing-bution, dickmunchers.

Anyway, neat trailer. Dunno if this will be much more than a rental, but the campaigns are usually worth a spin for their nice vehicle sections at least. Hopefully the new spartans will inject some much-needed characterisation, as well - playing a faceless, stoic "badass" character for 3 games got a bit tired.

really excited for this. great trailer

I'm wondering how the multiplayer firefight will work. If covenenant players were randomly given control of grunts/elites/jackals/hunters etc with different load outs it would be superb.

Great trailer, but I can't help thinking that this looks a little silly to me. Maybe I've grown up a bit since the original... I just can't see myself enjoying this much.

Only elites (can choose different loadouts).

Generator Defense in the beta was one of the gametypes for Firefight, which was secretly being put through the test.

It was alright overall. I found the level design a bit more fun, more reminiscent of the original Halo, but the story and presentation is all tropes and no substance as per Bungie's style since Halo 2.

Similar gameplay to 3 - a little more measured in its pace, a more sombre atosphere, but basically the same. I found it quite touching in places. Firefight is the real star though. Get a few friends together, stick it on Lost Platoon, and marvel at the combat :)

"This fall... Do the same as you did last fall, and the fall before that! AND THE FALL BEFORE THAT!..... HALO: REACH! OUT THIS FALL!"

Sounds exciting!

i thought the story and presentation was the best thing they have done since halo 2, personally. the fact that they really mixed up the gameplay, introduced several new characters that were actually interesting to play as instead of just being a walking tank, didn't get too far ahead of itself in advertising that the story was only going to be a 7/8 hour boots on the ground fight (why presume it was going to be anything else, they said they were shifting away from the space drama with religious overtones from the get go), they managed to vary all if not most of the encounters to encompass the more popular and praised playstyles and mechanics of the halo games... if anything, i'd say ODST had the most substance out of all of them.
