Halo: Reach - Leaked Screenshots and Mission Details

Ah, so you don't know what i'm talking about ;)

Friendly digs aside - it is very good and, even haivng played the previous Halo games, I suspect you will be surprised at how much better and more intense the combat is. I have spent over 40 hours just on Lost Platoon (2 people, Legendary) and am not close to getting bored. The rest of the game is just gravy.

I think Bungie needs to make a new game that isn't Halo related.
Although, the idea behind this one does sound pretty cool.

i agree, halo needed to end with #3...and not because I don't like halo, i enjoyed it a lot but we need something fresh from bungie.

There's no right or wrong in this. The Lost Platoon firefight map with 1 partner is the best i've experienced, however.

Have you guys both tried this btw?

ODST is a lot of fun with mates, but I think its far from being anything like the be all end all of FPS games.

I don't think ODST is the be all and end all - the campaign didn't blow me away - but do think Lost Platoon demonstrates the most involved, varied and intense combat vs ai yet seen in a video game. I've always loved the combat in Halo, but it never came together untill now. As far as i'm concerned Bungie should use Lost Platoon as a template for all future Halo releases and completely scrap campaigns. It's always been about the fighting - the story gets in the way.

I'm sorry to be horrible Warbie, I'm just not a fan of hyperbolic statements :p

Firefight is ridiculous fun, I will admit. My friends and I generally play Crater though, but I always tend to let them down, I'm terrible at Halo at anything past Heroic.

Everyone has their own opinion, and most people aren't changing them. That's why arguing/debating sucks :O

Really didn't say much. Except that the Spartans don't have the same looking armor as I thought.

:bounce:

I'm hoping for Halo on a mass scale - vehicles and and drop ships everywhere.

Never liked Halo, and don't think I ever will.

The game play is quite generic in my opinion, although I will give them credit for introducing a new alternative to health pack.

*fights urge to go on Halo fanboy rant!*

Naw - it's christmas

Surprised actually, I'm sure the actual gameplay won't change much but they have FINALLY changed the graphics engine and it looks quite good :)

Although it seems even bungie is not resistant to MWitis. I got a slight modern warfare/army of two feel to this trailer :|

I have to give it to 'em, they do make the trailers look cool.

Also, Kukri. Uber-spartan-gurkha of death?

Pretty much what I'm expecting - much more action with a larger force rather than the usual halo focus of the one cyborg death machine, which could be interesting.

That would be great. It's the moments when the shit hits the fan in Halo that are great - when lasers are everywhere and elites/brutes are closing in. It feels that much more like war when compared to games like MW because the enemy are actually tough and distinctive in their behaviour.

Does the spartan with a skull painted on his helmet remind anyone else of Ghost from MW2?

Spartans are cybernetically enhanced mother****ers. ODST are normal guys under the armour.

Ain't it funny that all the early footage of each and every Halo game all look alike? I've seen better "early" footage.

Just another over glorified map pack. :O

It feels that much more like war [...] because the enemy are actually [...] distinctive in their behaviour.
Yeah. Grandad is always going on about those special fuchsia coloured soldiers the Nazis had in every task group. He always knew to take out the others at range first then he'd switch to the shotgun and plough straight in.

Even though I didn't like Halo that much, I felt that Halo had one of the best soundtracks for a game.

:( :p

So much of Bungie's talent is being wasted on this franchise.

I'm not a fan of all the random armor types, they should have kept it more simple. It's lost some of the "Halo" feel to it.

The rest

The Jackals look mean as ****.

I'm so ready for this :sniper:

no more halo...please.

put your efforts into a new game bungie!

I wouldn't mind a remake of Marathon. I enjoyed playing that game as a kid. Loved the double shotguns!

Graphics look shit still. Guess that trailer was bullshoting.

Trailers usually are.

Demon's Souls also looks 'shit' if you are fussed about that kind of thing, yet is arguably the best game of last year. It's all about the gameplay. I'm just craving a fps that's difficult at the moment and seeing an elite again fills me with a good kind of dread.

Jackals look a little too different, its pretty strange changing shit this late into the franchise.

Shouldn't the tech be worse from the other games since, you know, this is earlier in the timeline?

Doesn't really make sense to me.

Reach was a military planet so thats excusable, the covenant also sent a fleet with an intention to annihilate the planet so somewhat reasonable there too. New species however seems over the top. Though I suppose with the whole military war thing the new character changes can also be excusable; war ready aliens with different getups is alright. Halo 1 it was only a few ships worth of aliens left over from the Reach fight, Halo 2 was with a small group who didn't know humans were on Earth, 3 is the same I guess. But no new aliens in any of that so its harder to believe.
