HAMMER Config for HL2 ?

Hello,
can someone tell me how to config the Hammer when i want to make a HL2 Single Player Map ? I only find Config Help for CS Source.

Well, so far I've only been able to get HL2 materials in the editor when chosing to edit a CS:S map, altough I can't make a HL2 map because the material "wireframe" is missing...
 
i'd like to know this too...

can anyone help?

I wanna start making hl2 maps :p
 
It just pisses me off when I ask for information about something and someone just post "I wanna know that too" I mean it's completely meaningless
 
no it isn't.

if only one person posted a bug and another 1,000,000 kept quiet then that bug wouldn't be top priority, even if it was the biggest problem people are having.

Those people are actually helping you by keeping your thread bumped thereby increasing the chances someone will see it and answer.
 
I believe all your troubles will be solved with the release of the full SDK.

At the moment we only have the fgd and textures for Counter Strike source. For the time being I think you can use "base.fgd", which is in the same place as the CSSource fgd, to plan out your maps. It doesn't have any monsters or things like that, however it does have all the basic stuff you need.
 
does the full sdk cost anything?
dunno if this is a stupid question, rofl.
i know nothing on this, and id like to start learning how to make maps

Hl2 world fixed it? You mean, they gave you something from the leacked content? ;) If I were you I wouldn't use anything from the leak, because its never healthy to mix versions when it comes to computers.
 
That really makes no sense to me...Are you saying that they fixed the problem of not having the fgd and the rest of the stuff?
 
u have to use the css fdg (or the... well i cant say :p) and 240 is css and 220 is half life 2 (in steam) sooooooo just go look at hl2 world for tut...

it works and gives u texuets and models in hammer
 
Ah I see...I was messing about with that file as well, but I must have just missed something because I didn't get it to work.

Still its not really a sollution.
 
Edit the gameinfo file and set the resources fetch to 220 so instead of CS resources it will load up the HL2 resources (textures, props etc).
 
Copy gameinfo.txt from the sdk into the half-life2/hl2 folder.
Open it up with wordpad and change the line at the top to read 240 instead of 220. You'll see it when you open it.

In Hammer's settings - change the fdg thingy to base.fdg instead of CS.fdg.
Change all the paths so it all points to the equivilent thing in hl2\hl2 instead of sdk. Leave all the bsp, rad, vis settings as they are but change the "copy maps to here before running" setting to point at hl2\maps instead of CS\maps. Should be pretty much it.
 
When I go to New... then HL2, it says there are no textures available for use with that game.
 
so i got the map to load but there is only one light source and it's coming from the big "ERROR" letters in the middle of my room. nigga what?
 
I got a different map that was just a cube to run fine but that other one (just a cube but has some ammo supposed to spawn) still don't work....
