Hammer has a tendancy to drain my system resources until my computer staggers to a halt. I make sure to shut off all background tasks, running only hammer, but it still manages to slowly kill my computer.
Some of the symptoms are:
1. My computer begins overheating and a humming noise emits from my hard drive.
2. It will give me constant errors that my computer is under a heavy load or something.
3. Eventually, it will lock up and/or restart. I can't even save my map because it tells me I don't have enough memory to do so.
My computer doesn't suck though... 2.8 gig Intel. 1 gig of ram. Radeon 9800 pro 128 megs. AND I don't have problems with any other applications, including Half-Life 2.
So I noticed that the 3d render window has some crazy FPS rate that is most likely the culprit. Any way to turn down the rate of FPS that this window renders?
Thanks.
