Hey team,
Every time I launch Hammer I'm getting a series of errors. I'm also getting some other weird errors (like steam not being able to see the directory structure of my harddrive after it's been running for any extended period of time).
So, last night, in a fit of frustration, I dumped my windows install and started clean. Now - I've installed windows (SP2) and am completely up to date as far as the 'Windows update' is concerned (including the latest version of .NET).
I've installed steam again, and all the accompanying games and SDKs.. and I'm still having the same friggin problems!!
Here are the errors that I get at launch (of Hammer):
When I click anything other than 'ignore' steam crashes and I get the windows "wanna report an error?? huh? do ya?" dialogue.
If I click 'ignore' the following error dialogue appears:
clicking 'ignore' on that one, brings up this one:
clicking 'ignore' again sees Hammer finishing launching, steam doesn't crash, but then (as I said before) after an hour or so Hammer will be rendered useless when it stops being able to see the directory structure of my harddrives. Opening a 'save dialogue' presents me with a window displaying 'My Computer' and the other items at that default level.. however I cannot then navigate to the directory that I need to save the map to.. nor can I complete a 'save' of the map anywhere else.
The only choice I have at that point is to quit Hammer and Steam and restart.
As I said, This is still happening on a totally clean install of Windows and Steam/SteamApps..
If anyone can offer any suggestions or help with this it would be much appreciated as it's totally killing my productivity.
