Is the Hammer editor already available? Does it differ alot from the Worldcraft editor? :noob:

Hammer is the new name for Worldcraft. There's a 3.5 beta on the Valve ERC, but it's not vastly different from 3.4

I dont want to criticise the HL2.net staff, but, there seems to be very little info on the net about the Hammer editor (tutorials f.i.). Even the links on PHL are unbelievably out datet (the last updated site I found on PHL dated from October 2001).
So basicly, there is very little info to find about HL2 mapping in general. Maybe you guys could do something about it? ;)

If there was enough call for it. But the times its been mentioned, very few have shown any interest in having them. And since tutorials take time to write and do in a way that everyone can understand. It's a lot of wasted time if nobody really cares.

And it's remarkably difficult to write tutorials for a game and editor that haven't yet been released...

Oh I dunno, we could just make it up as we go along, then when nobody can get any of it to work just say their doing it wrong ;)

Yeah that would work. It's like trying to explain to my friend why Day Of Defeat doesn't have Single Player.

HL2 isn't out yet, but there will be tutorials etc... with halflife2.dev, thats the whole point about it.
