Ok ever since i got my computer back from the repair guy over at radioshack , my computer has been having problems starting up and running properly, it makes a beeping noise at the beginning of start up sometimes and ill have to shut it down manually and restart, then i just got my new graphics card wich i love btw cheap too. but after i installed it my computer starts making that noise after it starts up and eventually it just freezes what should i do? should i go get it repaired or is this a hardware issue?also when i play games my computer freezes :S

The beeps are probably your POST failing. You can usually find out what they mean in your motherboard manual. Posting your specs would help. If the graphics card is new perhaps your power supply isn't big enough to power it. Also check to make sure it is seated properly in the motherboard slot.

wow i never knew radioshack didnt pc maintainence. also yes its definatly your psu. you will need a psu with more watts.

Yes. Check for compadability with your other components, though, as usual.

yes, i recommend going back to radio shack and asking them which is best. though they might try to jiff you in buying something you dont need.

Depends how much power it can provide to your system. You never did mention anything about your specs?

So it couldn't be faulty RAM, CPU, GFX card, overheating northbridge, fryed motherboard?

There isn't enough info in this thread to make definitive statements about the cause. I agree the PSU is a likly cause, but please don't tell this guy you know the problem is his PSU when there are other possible causes.

You took your PC to radio shack?

Educate yourself. Try howstuffworks.com and google.com.

beeps on start up up are either memory faultys or psu errors. also just to add more info to this thread. did the bios screen post?
