Hardware: reason for delay???

FIRST:sorry for my bad english, I`m from switzerland

Half-Life 2 is delayed, maybe Far Cry too and STALKER and DOOM III anyway. But all of those Games have got great graphics and environement details... Could it be that our pcs are just too slow to play those games in a good resolution, good details??? Of course these games will run on the newest hardware very smooth, but nearly nobody has got such a system... So I think the delays of all those (DX9(!)) games depends a bit on our hardware, cuz the publisher couldn`t sell it very good with that high requirements ;( !!! maybe..... What do you think???

eljoniz, it's a good theory. But since HL2 was always supposedly designed to run on 1gig processor with a GeForce 2 minimum I don't think that is the case. I think it's marketing greed and NVIDIA driver issues.

let me just disagree with you, eljoniz.

I personally think that releasing a game of HL2's popularity in the gamers community would be a very good reason for the gamers themself to go and get the latest hardware, in order to play it at the best quality possible.

Hard to say why Half-Life 2 was delayed because Valve is keeping aggravatingly quiet for the time being. Chances are we'll never know the exact reason.

yes especially spamz0r. he (in a recently deleted flamewar) tried to tell someone they were illiterate because they made some spelling mistakes or something.

It was specified by the devteam that the game for all intents and purposes is completed and that they have moved on to playtesting including bugsquashing.
