Alright Guyz, I Tested :
- Gforce 4 mx400
- 512mb ram pc2700
- 2.4ghz

Settings In HL2 :
- Everything At Medium
- No AA And AF
- Dx7

Approx : 40fps All The Time... That's Not Bad At All :naughty:

Wow, I have those exact same specs, well, at least until tommorow. I'm waiting for my 6600 GT AGP to arrive . But anyways, the game for me played absolutley flawless. Just a bit of lag in the Strider fight, but that was still playable. Another thing, I played it at 800 x 600 with medium settings and Trilinear filtering.

The FX cards (FX5500) run HL2 in DX8 because they don't perform well when doing heavy DX9 graphics.
He's saying that card should be able to run CSS at medium, considering that it will run it in DX8 mode.

Similar to how a DX7 graphics card (GF4 MX) performs well in HL2, considering it runs in DX7 mode.

Yeah, it will look good.
800x600 or 1024x768 should work. Just test it.

I tested my desktop with a Voodoo5 5500 PCI instead of the fx 5900... it like defaulted to dx6 mode, really buggy graphics, most textures like one color. I think it ran at like 20-30fps though ( this was during cs:source beta )
