I'm looking at this Corinex Powerline Ethernet Wallmount Plug, and possibly the router, But I don't know if I need the router, or just two plugs etc.... This is pretty new technology using your houses electrical to create a LAN.... If anyone can tell me exactly how it works, whats needed etc... Their website is somewhat unexplanetary(Is that even a word?).. Thanks in advance..

Whollyy crap... This thing works flawlessly... For anyone looking to better their wireless crap they got goin, Do it through your powerlines.... To my amazement, the Netgear powerline wall adaptor works as if you have the router right there with ytour PC.... Very impressive.... Solved a 2 year running problem...

It basically extends your network through the whole house, or where ever there is an electrical plug outlet..... It's just weird technology to me, data basically transfers though your electrical lines in your house... One gets plugged into an electrical outlet and then to router, the other end simply plugs into an outlet and then CAT5 into your ethernet port... Doesn't matter if youre in a cottage, a garage separated from the house, as long as you are on the same power meter, it works.... Pretty much ends the need for wireless.. Like one of the Cnet reviews said, It took more time to get the product outta the box than it did to set it up...LoL For anyone having problems with wireless, this IS the answer..... Like I said, I've been trying to solve my friends internet problem for a couple years... Even the pre-n router and card did not work well.....

this sounds like a really cool technology, i got a WLAN going about my house just now, and it works pretty well so i don't really need to change, but it is something that i can see getting better with time, so will be interesting to see when i next need a networking solution.

I bought it at Fry's, We went and got another one so both PC's are now online.... It's by Netgear, called the "Powerline wallmountethernet bridge" model XE102.... Like I said an excellent solution for an unattatched garage, cottage etc where wireless fails... I sound like a salesperson huh? It's pretty cool thats for sure...

Do you use a normal adsl/cable router for this? can you plug the net socket into a plug adapter... which gives you extra sockets too? (if you know what i mean) or does it havae to be plugged straight into the wall?

I've been using a gigafast powerline ethernet in my house for about a year and it works great. always connected, no speed loss, and it works anywhere in the house where there is an outlet. easy as hell to set up too, just had to plug it in and install the drivers and i was up and running.
