Before half-life2 came out, I suggested a mod where there are two teams, on one side there are a group of people with weapons and on the other side just one who would be a giant monster thing which could pick up large objects and do things in order to destroy the other team. After playing Half-Life 2, there was times when Dogg would be loose and attacked combine troops by picking up large objects and tossing them at the enemy, these moments imitated what I had previously envisioned.. What I would like to know is whether anyone knows if a mod has created something like this yet. Perhaps if nobody has, I could begin my journey into mod making by aiming to create something like this..
Has anyone or is anyone making a mod like this... (warning: spoiler)

no.. I'm not sure if you understood the idea.. what I envision is a group of combine soldiers which are controled each by a person would team up against another player who would be controling dogg and he/she would have to survive and destroy the whole other team.. The person controling dogg would BE dogg.. there wouldn't be an actualy person next to dogg..

how bout like the powerrangers megazord. each person could be one component. And the other team would be t he evil witch. And just when tey're losing they get giantized. But seriously a giant monster mod would be fun. You could choose between king kong, mothra, godzilla, or alien invaders, and the other team would be little soldiers

You're talking about a 1v1 game where one player controls dog FPS style, and the other controls multiple combine troops RTS style.
Here's a thought. The combine side player uses a scanner as his avatar and controls things that way. Would be awesome to watch a player controlled scanner with its spotlight whipping around.
I'm all for asymetrical designs, so this appeals to me.

Guys, it's fairly simple to understand.
Basically, on one side you have a single player, who plays as a larger monster (High HP, ultra powered, can pick up objects for throwing and bashing with, etc.), and on the other side you have a team of players who play as normal characters, like Combine or Resistance.
Basically, it's one Ultra-Powered player on his/her own, and 5 or 10 weaker players working together.

Ah yeah reminds me of playing Mechassault one guy in the ragnarok and everybody else in elementals. You could prototype the idea this way, give one player the uber-grav gun and leave the rest how they are, maybe alter the uber-grav gun to have a really short range for pullng and give that player the suit with 200, and no other weapons. An interesting twist is if you keep play going (no rounds) but only track kills for whoever has the uber-grav gun.
