In cs1.6 Aztec was a guaranteed server filller. Great gameplay, lots of great walling positions, nice and BRIGHT. It was my favourite map.
Aztec in source has a lot of mat_specular 1 problems for me personally! Shocking frame rate drops when i look up close at specularity materials (in t spawn specificall). Yes setting mat_specular 0 fixes it...
The map is also very dark. Yes it's atmospheric etc, but gameplay endures far longer than atmosphere could ever hope to. I'm finding servers which pack dust and dust2 will empty out when aztec appears.
I think the map should be lightened up A LOT and re-textured to match that white-stone wall appearance of 1.6 aztec.
