A Diablo 2 patch was in development for 18 months

Now Daikitana turned out to be a complete piece of shit. Warcraft 3 had excellent production values but I believe the focus towards platoon battles instead of armies was wrong and crap. The story also sucked gigantic crocodile wang, to end a game by having glowing balls of fairy shit destroy the main bad guy was laughable.

Obi-Wan for x-box was originally a PC game but was cancelled then re-designed for X-box. It resulted in one of the worst star wars games of all time. It came out over a year after the official canning i think.

There's not a great deal of games that come to mind, though i'm sure there's a lot more.

Half-Life 1 was completely reworked, almost as if a new game was created.
