I was just reading the Left4Dead blog and found the last post was on the 8th Jan.
Have Valve decided to abandon it in favour of TF2?
I've also noticed that even though L4D is newer, TF2 seems to be getting most of Valves attention.
TF2 gets short clips, comics, stats, more frequent better updates and L4D seems to be feeling slightly neglected.
When are Valve going to give us some of the fun stuff for L4D like they've done for TF2?

Oh, here's the blog if anyone doesn't know about it http://www.l4d.com/blog/

I'm sure they're just busy pushing out the new Scout update and working on the upcoming L4D. And maybe they're busy working on EP3--what a concept!

I think Valve is doing TF2 and Episode 3 while Valve South is doing L4D.

Poor valve. We should send them some cookies for the effort, guise. They deserve it.

I got the cook book!

They're probably working rather than blogging.

Tf2 only seems to get more attention because its been out longer. Otherwise, its still not the most up to date either, dont forget the last major update was before l4d even came out, the heavy update... Like everyone else said, they are walking the walk rather than talking the talk on their blog, which seems to be what you mainly care about.. They're working on it!

Why this thread is fail:

-Valve should just completely trash their blog which they do write on sometimes, just because they don't have anything to write on sometimes?
-TF2 didn't even get a blog until half a year after release, and didn't get its first DLC update until later on.
-They want to get tf2 updates out the door so they don't do side by side releases with left 4 dead (self-competition)
-Left 4 dead did get a big update regaurding bugs and balance
-Yes tf2 only seems to get more attention, its been out longer and so has already had a lot more dlc added to it. Dont forget the last major update they released (heavy update) was before l4d even came out.
-Left 4 dead dlc may be harder to make since they cant rely on community maps (no sdk), and maps are longer and harder to make.

God i love your logic, "valve should get rid of teh blog because dey haven't updated it in a while, even doh dey probably will update it when teh inevitable DLC cums outz":dork:

Thank you. Now let them post.

I'm just worried that by the time Valve begin releasing a steady flow of downloadable content (c'mon, not everybody knows about "Valve Time"), a significant chunk of the L4D community would've broken away & lost interest. Looking in the Steam forums (I know, it's all bloody doom and gloom in there), quite alot of people seem to be sick to death of the bugs/imbalances in the game. Some are more tolerable/patient than others, and luckily I fall into this category. Probs because all the bugs and other bad stuff is easily buried by the sheer brilliance of what is L4D.

BRING ON DA CONTENT PLZ VALVE!

Well it's their own fault for getting involved with so many games, I mean, they have to maintain them all at once. Not to mention actually making another one on top of all that.

At least they're better than blizzard.

Even when they're on a totally different topic?

Oh and what I meant was that Blizzard only has 1 big game so far and another looks totally finished but a beta hasn't been released.

WoW, Starcraft II, Diablo III

One big game? Are you saying only one big game OUT? If that's the case, then I see what you mean. But they still have quite a bit of staff members in development on SCII and DIII.

They are also working on a brand new IP.

What I meant mostly was that Starcraft II should be done by now.

They were just busy with the Scout Update. Now they're just going to make sure there are no big changes they need to make to the scout update, and do some more balancing.

Considering that all of the employees are also their QA team, splitting their team releasing two major patches is crazy.

They aren't sitting on their ass though, because they are busy getting the SDK ready. Hell, they actually recently uploaded the level design tutorials for L4D maps onto their site ( http://www.l4d.com/LevelDesignDocs.zip ), but obviously it's useless without the SDK.

I don't think so... Starcraft is one of the most popular games ever. Warcraft 3 is quite popular as well... Warcraft 2... Diablo 2... They have a lot of huge games.

I'm talking currently supported blizzard games.

They support every game that is still being widely played.

Such as Starcraft, Diablo 2, and Warcraft 3...

Works for me. And the blog was last updated on March 25, so thankfully Valve haven't abandoned it.
