Have you ever experienced sleep paralysis?

I couldn't move I was so tired last night and tried jerking myself out of bed until I accidentally flung myself over the edge. My mom came in the room laughing when she saw me on the floor.

Yeah, we were originally annoyed because you interupted us.

The only thing I get while I'm sleeping is sometimes I get the sensation that I am falling, so I wake up immediately in a shock.

I mean seriously.. even if I was falling, I think I'd rather sleep through the damn fall rather than wake up a a second before I hit the ground. The human brain is a mother****ing asshole sometimes :-P

That's supposedly when your brain is testing you. It makes you dream that your falling to see if your heart skips a beat. If you hit the ground, your heart didn't skip a beat and you die.

Or something.

I have a feeling it's one of those MythBusters and QI style myths.

Sort of on-topic. Has anybody ever experienced the sensation of falling whilst lying on your back with your eyes closed?

Or the feeling your bed is tipping until you feel like your vertical but not falling?.

I found it quite cool and fun but that's me.

Many, many times. Also night terrors with sleep paralysis. Some of the most terrifying experiences of my life.

: O

Sleep paralysis has always sounded shit scary but interesting...
i don't want to experience it, but when i do, i hope i remember that its just the sleep paralysis and not some weird voodoo shit.

LMAO , I couldn't stop laughing at that one for a while when parts were highlighted.

ALso yesterday when I said that I had it, I had it again that night. It was so annoying. I was paralyzed woke up, went back to sleep again paralyzed, 3 times or so.

Sounds absolutely horrifying.

No, I've never experienced it... and hopefully never will!

I experienced this for a period of time several years ago, maybe a few months. I'd need to scream (not sure why, but something scary was about), and nothing would come out. I'd be trying to yell and it'd feel like I was just gasping. Do not want.
