Have you pre-ordered Halo 2?

I haven't yet, but I am going to do so on the weekend. I seriously can't wait, just what I need while I wait for HL2. :naughty:

EDIT:Oops forgot to include poll. Mods please add a Yes/No option for poll

Nope. I'll wait until the PC version is released some time next year.

it's the only console game i've ever pre-ordered. and i hated Halo, but i just want to play Halo 2 for some strange reason. maybe bragging rights. or maybe 'know your enemy' sort of thing. either way, i'm spending moola on this thing so it better be good!

Nope.

(why would I without an Xbox?)

ive bought an X-box just for halo2 (well, that and all the other decent games :) ) but im not gonna pre order it. ill just nip down the shops and get it :D

Nope. I'll just wait for the PC version, it won't be that different from Halo 1 anyway.

If a pc version dun comeout, buy it. Dl a emulator and there you go.

Prepare to wait, a very very long time. I am sure there will be an xbox emulator that works for the PC pretty well...

No.
i don't have an Xbox and don't see myself getting one any time soon.
PC version later on? maybe.. i dunno.. i did not like the weapons of the first game.. so im skeptical about this one as well.

I haven't bothered pre-ordering as I know the manager of the local GAME so I just go down there as soon as they get their Halo 2 shipment in.

No. I have not. I will not. I cannot.
I do have an Xbox, but the PC is where it should be. Period.

why do people pre-order games? Games are usually out before the actual ship date, so people who pre-order usually get their games after people who buy it retail. I've never pre-ordered a game and I dont think I ever will.

Pre-ordering usually means that the store will hold a copy of the game for you for a while. (My local EB Games will hold a copy for 48 hours) This can be a good thing especially with hot games such as Half-Life 2 and Halo 2.

Why should I, im spending all my money on Guild Wars and HL2.
I'd rather play a game with full oringal ideas, use of new technology and improved technoloy, great use of technology, great gameplay(well, according to everyone who played it ^_^), great mod support, and ability to make maps.
I'd rather play a game like that then any other game.

For Guild Wars
I'd rather play a game that was made by my most hailed people in the world. The architect of battle.net, main people in the creation of starcraft and warcraft 1,2 and other people who contributed to great games. Those games provided me with 3 or 4 years of fun. Who could deny them? Plus i played it at E3 that shows they care about 56k support :)(ran..amazing on a 56k no lag!). Its a MMORPG, and looks great and sounds great. And its not a P2P MMORPG.

I'd rather pay for a game that will last me a few years then a game that will be outdated within 6 to 12 months.

It must be different in Canada than it is in the US. If I pre-order a game it just means that I am gaurunteed a copy as soon as they get it.

yes but you still have to wait til it ships? or are you talking about pre-ordering at say Best Buy? ..where they reserve a copy for you?

I am talking about pre-ordering at a retail store, so I go out and get the game rather than it coming to me.

That's what it means in the States too. I pre-ordered it through EBGames, so once it is released I am guarenteed a copy just for me at the store. Basically prevents any risk of them selling out before you get your hands on a copy. And in some cases it allows me to get the game a day or two early, like I did with GTA:SA.

Fox im pretty sure it is based on the store. Considering it technically couldn't change from country to country. Ecspecially in America since the Goverment barley ever interfers with economics(like businesses). I would think canada works the same.

Im pretty sure its basically just based on who you get it from. And the company can change that based on what country you are in.

I have pre-ordered from 4 different places, Best Buy, Gamestop, Gamecrazy and EB games and they all work like this.

I voted hl2 fanboy. I like consoles fine, but not for FPS's. Fighting games..flying games. There good for that kinda stuff.

well i have been in 2 situations before with games not being available.. happened right in front of me.
gamer did not pre-order Diablo2 and walks in on release day wanting the game.

it didn't happen.. they (EB) had alot of pre-orders and sold out the remaining copies.
so u see the benefit of pre-ordering? :)
its useful with big titles like Halo2 and HL2 ;)

Of course. How can I own an Xbox and not get Halo 2, much less preordered? And I don't care if you own an Xbox and are not getting Halo 2. :p

yes but you dont have the patented Stern "punch gamer geek in forehead, steal copy of game" routine ...works everytime ;)

Pre-ordered and paid in full. I even entered an OptusNet competition to get a free copy because i'm so cheap :D. This game and Half-Life 2 should tide me over for the summer holidays down here in Australia

I have heard quite the opposite.
I've heard mixed things. It really depends who you ask. I have heard that its a great game, but not as great as they're making it out to be (most likely, i mean, its Microsoft that are doing the marketing, and everyone remembers the trailers that came out before Doom 3, all that G4TechTV stuff)

And i've heard that its the second coming of christ, but you'll find anyone at any game forum saying that about any game (Especially games with hype as big as Halo 2/Half-Life 2 etc. etc.)

HELL YEAH I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR NOVEMBER 9 SINE JULY WHEN I RESERED IT

OH YEAH I BEAT HALO IN 5 DAYS IT AWSOME

haha.

I preordered it in 2002 at some gamestop but I eventually moved and i forgot which gamestop i reserved it out. I'm so stupid.
