Long story. If you wanna read it..go ahead...if you just wanna comment on screwing up and someone else paying for it...just post.
2AM: Friday morning. I'm ready to go to sleep. I have to get up by 8:00 AM for when my brother picks me up, I'm going home for spring break. My RA (Resident Assistant - AKA jerk that busts people for fun) busts me for having a bottle in my hand as I'm taking my final step into my room. He called out telling me to stop, I take the last step and drop the half full bottle of whiskey on top of my bean bag in my room. I walk back out with the giant gatorade bottle with just coke in it saying, "It's just coke"
"Bullshit, what's in your other hand?"
"Nothing man, I just have this gatorade bottle"
"You had a glass bottle in your other hand"
(SHIT...no matter what I'm busted now because he can write me and my friends up simply for suspicion) "It was an empty bottle."
"Of what?"
"Booze"
"You know what I have to do now?"
"Yep"
"Let's go in your room and get it"
I step back into my room, kick my beanbag like I'm angry thus flipping it over so it covers the bottle and head towards my desk drawer where I have empty bottles. I grab the same actual brand and kind of booze (only empty) and pull it out.
"Ok... you know what else I have to do?
"No...what?"
"I have to take a look in the other room, because I just saw you walk out of there with that bottle (Which he actually didn't but I didn't get a chance to respond, he just banged his fist on their door)
My friend comes to his door
"I need to look in your fridge" (They're supposed to ask, not force their way in which he practically did)
I was still back in my suite area about 15ft away and I wanted to get to my friend to tell him that he couldn't forcibly search anything beyond plain sight without a warrant, but it was too late. He had opened the fridge already.
So they proceeded to take the beers we had and my friend's bottle of booze out and put it into a bag from which they were going to dump it all down the drain.
We got written up. I don't care, it's my 1st offense and nothing really happens..and same for the friend that answered the door... BUT...for a 3rd friend who was just chillin' in the room...it's his 7th (All previous offenses happened to be completely bullshit because our RA is out to get us...seriously) and he might get kicked out of the dorms. We are going to put in a good word...and he didn't have any alcohol on him or anything..but simply because there was booze in the fridge he may get in trouble.
I would gladly take blame for all of this...but I couldn't help my friends around this in any way. After all..it was me that started the incident...
I think we can keep him from too much trouble...but I still feel really bad.
I decided to give the bottle I saved by kicking my beanbag to one friend...and the friend that lost all his beers.. I'll just give him some cash to compensate.
Has anything like this ever happened to you guys? Have you inadvertently gotten someone else in more trouble than you got yourself in?
I'm getting picked up by my brother in 3 hours...and I can't goto sleep. I hope someone is still surfing these boards.
EDIT: Oh yeah.. that 2 of 3 empties? Make that 2 of 6.. I forgot some. So I have to get rid of the other bottles before I leave. RA's will come to our rooms to make sure there are no fire hazards and stuff...but that's not all they do. They'll go through our things (Which is definitely not allowed). One of my friends had an empty bottle in a desk drawer. The RA's pulled it out of his desk and put it somewhere in plain sight...and he was written up for it. Total bullshit...and there's nothing we can really do about it. No way we can bring up undeniable evidence that the RA's did it..even though we're absolutely positive they did.
