March presents me with troubling financial times ahead. My lady's birthday on the 4th, our 2nd year anniversary on the 18th. Also, Spring quarter payments.

D-:

join the army. or get a bank loan thing.(no **** scratch that)

but i feel your pain. i too am broke. and un-employed.
maybe you should join the French Foreign Legion.

I hear you.

Exept that mars is the first month since august that i'll have some money over.

I'm totally skint and unemployed as well. I can't find a job anywhere!!! :frown:

I'm struggling to find a job. Applied for several since the new year but haven't heard back from any of them.

2009 has been balls so far.

If GTA has taught me anything, you should be able to run out into the street, carjack a car, smash into other vehicles and then ramp it off something and you should get loads of money quick.

Make Half-Life porno, and you'll get rich.

I have about ?15 to last me until the end of the month.

Ahhhh the life of the student.

More things to life th...sorry I cant even finish that sentence. Money is everything.

Who wouldve thought a few digits on a screen could determine how you live your life eh.

Lucky you, I've not even found any suitable to apply for. Well, I did apply for one but I didn't get called back.

I agree, 2009 does suck balls.

Shit I've been looking since november... I've got an interview this afternoon though, woot!

I work weekends in a bar.
I'm a student. I might quit, having no money is probably better than working.

*Clutches handy vocational qualification close to chest*

Working sucks....

But getting 1,000 bucks every two weeks is sexy...

[/gloat]

Wow, who would have thought that the day I posted this thread, two hours later someone called me up for a job interview.

I've applied to dozens of places since September and this is the first time anyone ever called me back.

Walking out the door to my interview now, wish me luck.

This will teach ya,

You need to make more threads when something isn't going your way.

i have a full time job and i still worry about money. I'm paid well but I just can't seem to stop thinking about my future. I have stock options, a 401K, and about 2k every 2 weeks, but it's not enough for what I owe....

pain in the arse

Blimey, how much do you owe if even that's not enough?!

find things that are free and try to sell them at a cost.

1 example is looking for free cut outs of movie characters or video games. my friend gave me a Halo 3 huge cardboard cutout that will probably make a lot of money. i also have a giant M&M blue guy that is on wheels, which could fetch me at least $300 on ebay. its about 4 feet tall. But seriously if your over a friend or relatives house just try asking them for things and then go about selling them on ebay. you can make a lot of money off junk that other people think is awesome

Having no money does suck. Especially when you go from making $4000 a month to $0 a month.

And then nobody's hiring.

At least I got a nice tax return.

Its hard at the moment. If you have a job your scared shitless of losing it. And if you dont, you have no money at all and its a strugle to even get a job!

The inherent problem at the moment is that everyone who is in work is fearful of losing their jobs, so people are just not spending money unless it's absolutely necessary in case they do loose their jobs. Everything just comes down to consumer confidence.

The job interview went very well. The position that I'm striving to obtain is an on-campus job for the Center for Disabilities Service. It's a transcribing job, where I type up a lecture as the professor delivers it. My laptop would be wirelessly connected to a deaf student's laptop and the text I type would appear on their screen in real time. It pays $20/hour, but comes with a TON of responsibility. Missing a class means the deaf student has been denied his or her education. There's also a mandatory 30-40 hour non-paid, unsupervised training session prior to starting.

My typing test went fine as well. There were three tests. I scored 111 wpm with 91% accuracy on the first test. Because of my first test results, he had me skip the second test. The third test, a crazy hard one with tougher vocabulary and numbers/dates was challenging. The company in charge of that test says one needs 55 wpm with 0 mistakes to pass. I had 72 wpm, but with 20 errors (I capitalized the SEcond letter of words, and inserted sp aces in the middle of words). He said that he doesn't care whether or not I passed that third test, so considering everything I did pretty well. He said he will call Monday or earlier (after the interviewing process) to let me know if I qualify for training.

I've never had more money than now tbh.

same here, but it seems like my credit card statements (although I'm paying them off) are more and more expensive because the interest rate has gone sky high. I was paying like 13%, but now its like 20% and thats just ridiculous. I call for a tax and interest revolt!

I got a shift tomorrow at 2pm. A 'test shift'. I better keep this job.

Working at Quizno's. I call myself a Sandwich Artisan. The shift went really well, people are friendly, work is easy. Although I'm incredibly hungry now.

Also I should have said "today", since I actually went to bed at 5am.

I got the job!

Congratz.

I wasted precious petrol today to drive to a couple of places that the paper and a couple of mates had told me were looking. One of them had received over 50 application forms and were refusing to accept any more. Hence no luck there. One of them had retracted their job vacancy. One of them was for four hours a week despite not stating that in the window. And the last one had already closed applications.

It was a crap day in that regard. Luckily the weather was good and I had good music in the car. :)

Wow that sounds like an easy job for $20/hr! If your biggest responsibility in your job is showing up than I'd say you've got it made. Congrats! I'd be tempted to randomly type stuff like boobs or something just to mess with the deaf folks.

Hoping to work as a lifeguard this summer. Easiest. Job. Ever.

I don't like living with my family, but hell if I don't love not paying for stuff.
