Inspired by the recent "help me understand atheism" thread.
What would your ideal Heaven be? Similary, what would be your worst hell?

Heaven: A place of endless sensual pleasure where you spend eternity with your friends and family, doing whatever the hell you want, with complete control over everything. No want, or need. And a limitless imagination, so eternity doesn't get boring.

Hell: A place of endless physical and mental pain, with no escape, or light, or anything that is conforting, with nothing to do except sit there and take it.

If my ideas sound a little christian, thats the indoctrination talking!

Hell: Needing a piss and a shit so badly but not being able to go.

Heaven: Constantly having the best shits ever, with no need to wipe.

There used to be a heaven and hell club near me.

Heaven (upstairs) = dance anthems, blue lights and lasers.
Hell (downstairs) = r'n'b anthems, red lights and chavs.

It worked for them, it'll work for me.

Heaven: On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair. Warm smell of colitas rising up through the air. Up ahead in the distance I saw a shimmering light.

Hell: My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim; I had to stop for the night. There she stood in the doorway; I heard the mission bell, and I was thinking to myself, this could be...

I don't know. I like to think of heaven as a sort of place where our level of consciousness isn't restricted to 3 dimensions anymore. We can travel back and forth in time, and do all these things that are beyond a 4th, 5th, and 6th dimension. So heaven is like this place where we all trascend into a higher level of consciousness and happiness.

Hell is a cold, dark place with no light, where physical, mental, and emotional pain splits you into pieces and you never finish picking those pieces up.

Hell is like a bad story. It's like looking at a computer screen, reading the words: Hell is like a bad story. It's like looking at a computer screen, reading the words: Hell is like a bad story. It's like looking at a computer screen, reading the words...

Hell is like a cold. A bad one just only with pain and many other things, you get so sick of it but you know you can do anything about it. Its like getting tied to a pole to burn only you cant die but you feel that pain. Its like being made to sit and watch barney for hours or maybe even teletubbies, something you can never stand.

I can stand to watch Barney and Teletubbies. If that's the best Hell can throw at me, bring it on.

Heaven: Take me down to the paradise city where the grass is green and the girls are pretty!

Hell: There's a sign on the wall but she wants to be sure
And you know sometimes words have two meanings
In a tree by the brook there's a songbird who sings
Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven

Heaven: A place where we ultimately know about the entire fabrics of the universe and know everything everything and anything, and can also comprehend anything that we couldn't previously do. Essentially a place just like Earth, although you can do whatever you want, have whatever you want, wonder around Earth to see what you family are doing or fast foward time and see what the Earth will be like in so many years, go back in time and see historic timelines. And of course be with all your family and friends who have died, as well meeting loads of new people, including those famous.

Hell: Depending on what bad things you did, but you ultimately relive your entire life, and whatever hurt and pain you caused others, you feel all together magnified many times.

Is Limbo shemale supermodels? And how would one sign up for that, hypothetically speaking?

Heaven -> Fictional place, better than Hell somehow.
Hell -> Fictional place, general concensus : not as good as Heaven. Lot's of fire, pointy sticks, horns and rock n' roll.

I HATE that song

As for the thread subject. There is no heaven or hell so this discussion is kind of pointless.

Eternal life and complete death both sound equally awful. Heaven would be hell after an eternity.

Heaven> Inanely boring and stupid

Hell> Miserably painful

What Death Really is> nothing

I'll take nothing over miserably painful or inanely boring any day.

But would the hellians ever get free?

I dont see how anyone can say eternal bliss would be boring, by its own definition it wouldnt. But personally my ideal heaven would be Pesh's mom sitting on my face for all eternity. :O

If you don't think eternal bliss can be boring, read the novel "singularity".

As human beings we like variety. We like changing sensory input, and if everything is predictably blissful and good, we eventually get bored.

I dont believe in heaven or hell, but the concept of it is supernatural so my point is is our understanding of bliss is so removed from whatever this eternal supernatural bliss is, that its meaningless to bring it down into our definitions. Were natural and feeble, if there is such a thing as eternal bliss Im not going to jump up and say its boring or whatever cause I dont know anything about what it means to experience such. And yes before you say it, I agree that the negative makes me value the positive, without death life is nothing.

Hell is actually having to listen to fanboys laud one of those games over the other.

They're both acceptable, fun FPS games.

Yeah, that one is my favorite Beksinski painting.

My perfect heaven would be one where I don't exist.

I'm no fanboy, I was just joking :). Anyway those hell pictures kick ass!

Heaven: Sex, sex, and chocolate.

Hell: Ball bagged, cock slapped and moisturized by satan and his cronies.

:flame:

Not in heaven.

Yeah, that one is my favorite Beksinski painting.

Thank you. I went to an exposition of his paintings once and recently thought about it, but couldn't remember the name. :)

Never really believed in either, but...

Heaven: A matrix white-room for each person, with you in control of everything. It becomes like a giant virtual reality MMO once everyone is inside. An MMO with rules, settings, characters, everything that can change on a whim, where patches come whenever you decide what changes must be made and the game does in fact make everyone happy, because everyone makes their own game. Heaven does not exist, but it can be created. Why let people base their desires to go to heaven on 'faith', when they could see it for themselves beforehand to compare? Until someone left behind spills metaphorical coffee on the servers back in the real world, and all of humanity is erased. Must find a way to kill everyone left behind.

Hell: The same, really, except you are not in control. You are a slave, made to do whatever the others wish. Alternatively you can get left behind and live a miserable lonely existence until you die, and simply rot away.

Being made to be without any free will would certainly be hell for me.
