hello from uae

i am herzai and my allied here in the apartment with me all like half live. i make thread in main forum but i do nut know why it earns closed.

hope for half live 2 soon and to post with you. hope to become your allied. half fun.

No offense, but isn't there a board in your own language? I mean, I know that I don't speak german quite well, so I don't post at german boards (if you know what I mean).

Again, no offense. You're free to post here, but I just think it might be better for you to try to find a board in your own language. People would actually understand what you're saying :)
 
No... That's another reason why it might be better to find a board in your own language: you would understand THEM better too :p (as in, not only do we barely understand you, but you don't understand us either... grah, now I am being hard to understand :p)

Translators (I assume you use one?) just don't work good enough for this kind of thing, IMO.

Yeah well and I am Dutch. My point was not that I minded that he's from another country, my point was that if he reads the site trough a translator, and posts through a translator, misunderstandings and other problems are bound to happen. Within his first 10 posts he already made a topic that was closed. It's not really his fault, because he doesn't understand (the fact that he doesn't know why it's closed speaks for itself). But more of this is bound to happen. He will get offended by posts that are in no way offensive, but are translated like that. or the other way around. And so on. Translators will translate words (and often wrong), but not grammar. If I understood it correctly, he speaks Farsi. Farsi grammar is completely different from english. It just doesn't work. (for example, in another thread, he tells us his friend got mad because of the username "crusader". Just count the problems already encountered in his first 10 posts...)

Like I said, I know where MY boundaries are. I understand a bit of german, but not enough to actually go posting on german forums.

I'm sure there are HL2 boards in the Farsi language somewhere, it just seemd logical to me that he should go there, both for his sake and for ours.

And again, no offense.

(I do take offense if people call me full of shit, though.)

Well, i'm sorry i offended you, but i'm sure that you offended him a lot more by telling him to go to a different forum. i know that it would offend me. besides, how do you know that he's using a translator anyway. fact is, his english is about the same as rjmc's and nobody complains about him, do they.

I didn't TELL him to go to a different forum, I ADVISED him. For his own benefit. I didn't mean it offending, hence the "no offsense". Read better.

And if his english is about the same as "rjmc", I guess I haven't encountered that user yet :p

edit: [offtopic] I just looked that guy's posts up, and at least he seems to understand what people say, and beside some grammar mistakes, his english doesn't look like it came straight from a bad web-translator :p [/offtopic]

Sorry if I seem to blunt about this, but I always say what I think. So there. :p (and I know that's not always a good thing.. oh well :p)

Thats true he was....A simple misunderstanding.

Small misunderstandings can cause a whole range of problems....One day a man gets short changed at the kosher shop, then *Boom* the next day German invades Poland.
