If you have been around the forums for a while you can see what happens when people do not get a hl2 fix. We get bored and talk about string theorys/aliens/religion/politics etc. There is really something wrong here. You're product (or lack there of) has effected us all in a negitive manner. It is not our choice to discuss these matters but you leave us with no choice. Soon we will not care anymore. You can only make so many threads and have so many arguments before you just day to yourself, "I am really sick of waiting, it will be worth it but not if it takes this long." Most of us have reached out edge thus executing those emotions onto others. The fact of the matter is, all of us have lives. This is a really nice hobby, just like some people love to read People Magizine, we love to see what you guys will come up with next. I am still on your side but not for long. Like I said before It will be a great game, but not if it takes longer than we feel like waiting for it. Thank you for your time.

..we all have lives? Speak for yourself!

Let me be the first to say.. VALVe owes you nothing!

/me runs off laughing evily

well put it this way, when HL2 is released a lot of community members will be a lot closer than if it was released last september, and i think the HL2 community will be better off than the HL1 community in that sense. of course i hate the delay but it could bring about some nice things to our community. how often do you see Doom III fans talk about string theory? well?!?!?!!!

I hate it when people say valve owes me nothing. THEY OWE ME A GAME! I BOUGHT THE VIDEOCARD AND WAS PROMISED A GAME!! THAT MEANS THEY OWE ME DAMNIT!

/me explodes

Yes... it has truly affected us all in a negative way :(. I even thought I could come up with a plan to go to Mars, if I discussed it here and asked fellow forum members to help... oh wait that wasn't me.

Stop complaining. Just think about how long people have had to wait for Duke Nukem forever. Or think about the 5 years in between HL1 and the announcement of HL2.

Besides people here were discussing theories, politics, and things like that since the time that the release date was still Sept 30th.

Lies, If I remember correctly we where having a argument as to when hl2 was going to be released on time or not. The editior from PHL was getting flamed constantly.

No string theory.

Oh for crying out loud you were promised nothing and it's only a game. Go and do something else beyond post silly posts :p

But can't you see! That's what Valve wanted! That's what this whole Half-Life 2 leak was for. They wanted to see what the fan forum communitites would be reduced to discussing after they delayed it. We talk about string theories/aliens/religion/politics/men in airports/pandas/etc.

/me starts a thread about pet badgers

Thats makes me think...will Halflife2.net have a HL2 server? If it does it would probably be in England though...

I saved gabes life and in return he promised me halflife2 on time...I feel betrayed.

Seriously though, hes right the delay has brought the community closer together. Although if you go to other quite literally unmentionable sites such as *************, then you wont see the same.

I think id have to be on both sides of this. while yea this delay has brought some wierd ass threads and stuff, it has brought everyone closer together (ex: ut2004 server).

but i would appreciate it if maybe valve was a little more open with us and at least let us know progress.

I hope Valve holds back now so they can go all out at E3. Keeping quiet now and showing new stuff at E3, that would make PvtRyan a happy boy :)

Yeah that would be best, unless the game somehow magically started selling legally before then.

I have already noticed other posts about this same topic and your trying to make it look like Valve is the bad guy and there responsible for what the forum is reduced to, you need to grow up get a job and do something useful like work for a living it will help to take your mind off the little things.

Most ppl humble themselves and start boring topics yes they dont have much else to do but they dont blame ppl for there own misery.

Valve owes you nothing you bought your vid card knowing full well you would recieve the game when its finished just like the rest of us.

I was actually just doing that because I find the over whelming amount of "VALVe owes you nothing" replies ridiculous (read: sarcastic)

I was just kidding. I know Valve doesn't owe anybody anything (legally just those who bought the graphics cards with the Half-Life 2 vouchers and if they care about their fanbase they do also owe everybody the completion of Half-Life 2). I played their game and loved it, I played their mods and loved it even more.

As far as I'm concerned they should just put the Half-Life 2 project in the can and teach everyone who's whining a lesson. The original Half-Life was good enough for me.

Valve owes you nothing.

Yeah, after all we are all going to die in a year or so anyway...thats if mr Titor is right....which he isnt :p

Bah, I'm enjoying these weird threads :D All of it has brought the community really close together, and that in my mind is a great positive. If you don't believe me dig up qukbeam's leaving thread :)

Seriously though, for Half-Life 2 I'll wait as long as I have to. I have no expectations, like has been said, it's just a game, and although it'll probably become more than that after release, right now I'm just glad it's being made at all. As for the ATi coupons, that's a whole different story, Valve did make a promise regarding that, but the source code theft wasn't entirely their fault, and nothing can be done to reverse that so just deal.

Edit - Weird, every second post from me lately has been the first of a new page :)

I tottaly agree with you. Fux HL2! We should tell them to scrap it! Half-Life is going to live forever! Even when d00m 3 comes out I will still play Half-Life. Even when painkiller and Duke Nukem (Taking forever) i will still play half-life.
/sarcasm off
