Help! Corupted Model!

Help! I went to open up my Jalopy model to continue editing it today and the model was corrupted:flame: Could someone please point me towards a fresh Jalopy model please. Help greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You are wrong. And calling people lazy ****s when they ask for help is not very nice. And how would being a lazy **** have anything to do with getting a "free" model? Any lazy **** can go on Steam, download The Orange Box, get gfc scape and extract the model(what I did). I will admit I'm a stupid **** for not keeping a backup, but I'm not a lazy ****.

Besides Barrab has a point , why can't you just , oh i dont know , reinstall episode 2? That should give you your modles back.

I downloaded it from steam reinstalling it would mean downloading an entire 4+ gigs at 77 kbps. I want to save the trouble and time of doing that. I'm only asking for 1 model. Either someone will be nice enough to help me or they won't. I must say I would be the first to help if you guys were asking for a model. If your not going to help me don't post.

And im fairly sure that sharing official models like that is illegal , i mean how are we supposed to know you actually have Episode 2 and you dont just want the model? hmm?

77 kbps is on a good day. At 64 kbps it would take 1 Day and 8 Hours to download The Orange Box again vs. 10 minutes to download one ****ing model. If you were in my shoes which would you pick?

hehe even before i'd ask another i would try to get it on my own
so that includes downloading the whole game.. 1 night while i'm sleeping and i got it.

Guilty Spark,

if you want us to help you, then explain this to us from the beginning. Where is the model that is "corrupted". Is it in your ep2 models folder, for example, "C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\[username]\half-life 2 episode two\ep2\models" or is it still in the CFG? If it's in the folder, then just export the right uncorrupted model from the CFG again. The model in the CFG shouldn't be able to get corrupted by you. However, if I remember correctly Valve's CFGs use a system that enables to load precise files from the server. This means that when they add something to the CFG's people wont have to download the whole CFG again, only the precise files that have been changed. So, if your CFG has indeed been corrupted somehow, you should be able to go Steam > My Games > Episode Two > right click and Properties > Local files > Verify integrity of game cache or even Defragment cache files. That should, if I understand anything, possibly redownload the broken files.

You might also be trying to open the model with the wrong program. For example, trying to open it with the EP1 hlmv rather than the EP2. This might give an error message.
