HeLp! I hAvE a BuG!

I have a problem!!
When I click to play hl2 in steam's 'Offline Mode' Steam tries to connect to the Steam Server. When it fails it gives me the option to continue in 'Offline Mode' or to retry. I choose to play in 'Offline Mode' as that is what i am trying to do.
It then loads a bit, and a popup says: Steam could not connect to the server, please try again.
Then nothing happens ;(

When I connect to the internet i can log into steam, and in hl2's 'Properties' it says an update is required. It also says: aqquired: 99%

WTF DOES THAT MEAN!!?? AND IF I NEED AN UPDATE WHY DOESN'T IT UPDATE!!??

i think offline mode only works if you have already logged in

You need to click 'remember my password' on the login screen and then it should work... works for me

i tried logging in and starting half life 2 online, i loaded my saved game..... but it never finished loading...
it was loading and then the screen went black and it didnt load a thing.
it just stayed that way
