Help me build a definitive list of badasses.

James Gandolfini.

And on an unrelated note, Tony Sirico is also a pretty awesome badass. He's my favorite character in the Sopranos. I just wish he got more acting jobs.

Tom Cruise, after watching MI:3... Not so much with his other movies.

Liam Neelson after watching Batman Begins... Not so much with his other movies.

Ewan McGregor after watching The Island... Not so much wi- You get the point.
Although, he is kinda've badass in the new Star Warses.

Arnold Schwarzenegger... or he used to be.

Harrison Ford, still can be pretty badass.

Viggo Mortensen in A History of Violence and of course LOTR.

Jack Black in Tenacious D and The Pick of Destiny.

Pierce Brosnan as Bond.

That's all I can think of for now that hasn't quite been mentioned in the thread.

Pierce Brosman as bond.
Jean Reno as Leon.
Slim Pickens as crazy cowbow pilot in strangelove.

Nicolas Cage - Gone in 60 seconds, and Con Air.

He rawks.
You forgot Face/Off.

It's unfortunate, "No! The bees! Oh God they're in my eyes!" has forever ruined my impression of Nicholas Cage as an actor.

Also, no one's mentioned Walken yet.

Kurt Russell in the movies he did with John Carpenter:

Escape From New York (Snake Plissken is the very definition of badass)
Escape From L.A.
The Thing
Big Trouble In Little China
