Help me get a better graphics card!!

Hey... I realise how povvo this sounds, but its worth a shot anyway heh

I have a 9600 and it doesnt really perform that well on CSS. Id love to get a 6800.. even just a 6800NU so that i could get some wicked graphics goin when HL2 is finally released - but i cant afford it hehe.

So im askin if anyone wants to help out by donating like $1 or $2... If a bunch of people do that then i can hehe. In return il like, sell my 9600 to someone here cheap

I know this will attract a billion flames. Its like this aussie guy who went on the news cos his sheep sheering invention failed. He wanted every aussie to send him $5 to get back on his feet hehe.

so you want people to pay so you can get a good graphics card and then sell your shit old one with discount even though no one would probably buy it since most people should have a better one by now.

How's about this, get a god damn job. I worked to buy my system (6800 GT, 3 ghz p4 HT, 1 gb hyper-x pc3500 ddr, sweet monitor, sweet speakers, audigy 2). Nothing in life is free, no one is going to give you money. If you can't afford a graphics card, we know you won't be affording to pay us when we need stuff. Besides I never ask people for stuff, I WORK for it. Not beg.

You're missing the point. It isn't the amount that is the problem. The problem is that you stooped this low to begin with. Sure there are a lot of kids whose parent shell out the big bucks, but the rest of us (myself included) have worked for our own things. I suggest you follow suit.

If you really wanted money, stop spending the money you have. It's called a budget. Make one.

Why in the hell am I going to give you money? Chartiable donation, yes. Not for some dumbass to get a new graphics card. You should be asking for $50 to buy HL2 as well.

I always have a dollar to spare to charities. I don't have a dollar to spare for you.

Man maybe its just me but ive never really held money in that high regard. I used to make hundreds and thousands on an affiliate program. It was a program for a site that sold everquest plat and accounts and shit. I made too much that it didnt seem right for me to keep it. I donated about $500 usd to the ultima online shard i was playing. I then ran competitions for people to post stupid pictures of themselves for like $100usd at a time

So you probably say - YOU SHOULD HAVE JUST KEPT THAT. well at the time i didnt need it. I dont 'expect' any favors in return just cos i gave heaps away. Im just saying, its not like im some tightass who never did anything for anyone. Thats why i dont really think its a huge deal to ask for a couple bucks!

But anyway - continue to flame

Can't you get a discount from ATI if you cash in one of their cards? Something about upgrading from *any* card (read: a ten year hunk of junk) and they knock $50 off a 9800 or something...

I don't care what you spend your money on or what you call entertainment.

If you really want something, save your money for it. I pinched pennies for a year to afford a new video card and case. I didn't come crawling to somebody asking for money.

It's called a budget, make one and live by it. I have a relatively high-end computer and a new car because I can follow a budget. It's called managing your money.

Someone used a story like this on the rage3d forums in the summer, except he said he gave thousands to the United Way charity. His post smelled of nearly as much BS as yours does.

How much would it take to flog your card on ebay, and then get a tad faster card? Not a lot. Now compare that price to the price of a bronze HL2 package. Makes me wonder how you managed to afford the HL2/CS:S package at all...

There is a thousand different ways to afford a new graphics card without breaking your budget. It's not like you need the money for something important.

There is a difference between needing a dollar to catch the bus home and needing a dollar on something you don't even need. Has anybody ever come up to you in a store asking you for a dollar to buy a video game or a new tv? I don't think so.
