Okay, so there's this old movie I saw like ~10 years ago and I have no idea what it's called and I've asked my dad and others with no avail. Here's the basic story outline:

A young man (Early 20s or so, I think) is not what sure to do life/career wise and he seeks advice from some man and gets a sort of inspirational talk. He than goes off and starts working in the mail room at this huge corporation and during the movie he slowly works his way up to the top spot but during it he faces problems, temptation, etc.

It might even be in black and white, it's that old.

I registered and went to make a thread and apparently I have to verify my account (After having done the normal email confirmation).. with a credit card (And the other 2 options, an Amazon account or via SMS are a no-no for me too :().. o_0

Anyone with an IMDB account want to make a topic for me ? :D <3

Yeah, that sounds like it to me. But that movie is also weird as hell, and I would of thought he might mention that. :D

True, I'm just hoping it is The Hudsucker Proxy, otherwise the movie he's looking for sounds boring as hell.

I am going to second The Hudsucker Proxy. That's the only movie that I know of that fits that description.

Okay, so many people have suggested The Hudsucker Proxy and it looked like a winner but I'm positive it isn't it, this was a 'normal' movie and yes, SAJ, it would be considered boring, especially in these days. :(

Ok then, try and give us some more details to work on. What you've said so far isnt very descriptive, and the more you can think of the more it narrows it down.

it's Secret of my Success, with loveable Marty McFly as Brantley Foster; a small town boy climbs the corporate ladder by passing himself off as part of the corporate elite; hilarity ensues

wha? it could be it .. he said "old" ...some of these whippersnappers think that anything from the 80's is old :E

only because nothing existed before the 80's ..well maybe just the dinosaurs and noah

Ferris Bueller's Day Off!!! I really have no clue...
