I keep getting this error

And when i go into advanced options for video it shows DirectX Level 6.0 When i have installed 9.0

What graphics card are you using? And what are your system specs?

The top one is what it thinks your video card can handle. The bottom is the version of DirectX that is installed on your computer.

My Graphics Card is a AG315E-32 SiS, by system specs you just mean ram n stuff?

What I mean to say. Is you can't use a on board video card to play HL2
unless you want 12 FPS. You won't be able to play HL2 until you get a job and another computer

Yeah, seems like you need a new computer. If you dont have a job just ask people to mow their lawns or some crap. If there is a buisness you like going to alot (ex. Hobby Store). Ask if you can help around with out being payed, and once they see that you can help people pretty officiently they might just pay you. Of course if you're not old enough there is always Christmas/ hanukah. LOL i was just thinking about that. 8 parts for your new computer. 1.Case,2.Power Supply, 3.Motherboard, 4.CPU, 5.Graphix card, 6.ram, 7.Hard drive, 8. Cd-Drive, preferably a Dvd drive for HL2 SE.

message me and I'll tell you what you want to buy. tell me how much money you wish to spend on the box only. meaning, cpu/gpu/mem/HD/PS/Case bla bla bla. Once I know how much you want to spend. I can tell you what you need to buy.
I do recomend that you wait until you have the money to buy a PCI-Express system with DDR2/blablabla

The SiS315 is a DirectX 7 GPU. It seems like it's being incorrectly detected.

Have you tried the latest drivers?

In the console enter the following to force DX7:
mat_dxlevel 70

Do you mean the actual CS:S console or a differect console.. if the CS:S how do i open it in the main screen?

id say that your video card just cant handle CS:S. i think you should buy a 9800 pro. or you can stick with the fluro colours and have a horrible CS:S gaming experience
