Hey i have recently purchased a nVidia Geforce 6600 agp and have been very satisfied with its graphical performance, but as soon as i played Source i realised something! The floors in Dust/Dust2 are not shiny anymore! also my game is playing in 16-bit colour when i have set the card to 32-bit. What is this about? i have some screenshots: Un-shiny floor: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y114/Najica123/de_dust0005.jpg

16-bit graphics clearly shown: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y114/Najica123/de_dust0007.jpg (Look on the p90's front)

The thing is, that shadows and other effects are great! its just these minor things, if anyone has any ideas on why and how this is happening i would be very grateful, also i changed to this card from a ATi radeon 9800 pro if that helps.

Thanks

p.s here is a screenshot of the games shadows and stuff (If this helps further too as the shadows seem to be fine...): http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y114/Najica123/cs_assault0028.jpg

Try updating drivers. If your drivers are already the newest try rolling back to an older version.

yeah i do have the latest drivers and the previous ones did the same... thanks though, anybody else got any input?

Thanks

Did you set the Reflections settings to "Reflect All"? Also in your gfx card settings you can set always 32bits, that might help.

Uhh, that looks pretty normal. The first pic looks like it has bilinear or trilinear texture filtering, try setting it to 4xAF. I looked at my P90 and it looks very similar to the one pictured, so I dunno.

Oh ok thanks, i will check those thing but my direct x is 9.0 hardware so thats cool. Thanks for the input guys ill go check thos thangs now.

why should a dirty floor shine in the first place??
