My little brother is a gaming nerd in the making. I'm so proud *snif*. He recently came to me for a suggestion on a game that he could play. Sadly, he is playing on my family's PIII 450 MHz. My brother is 10 years old and my parents don't want him to play anything with more than an E rating (neither do I). Do you guys know of any fun games for a 10 year old that would play on a computer as old as that? THanks.

The Curse of Monkey Island...absolutely HILARIOUS adventure game...if you can find it.

Doom 3. Gta games.

No wait...

Monkey island games.

yea good one! thanks. that's the kind of stuff I'm looking for. any more? racing games? action games? platformers?

Spider-Man 2, Myst (If he has patience and is smart), and The Curse of Monkey Island, as others have stated.

Monkey Island for sure.
Racing games.. hmm, any really..
Sonic heroes is fun.

edit: Yea the spiderman games are good, but I heard the PC verson of SP2 was REALLY bad.

Thanks guys. That was a big help. I haven't played any nonviolent E rated games for years so I couldn't remember the good ones

Damn you George Lucas! Damn you!
Ahem, 'scuse me. Any LucasArts adventure games - God rest their souls - would be perfect. They are perfect.

I dunno about that one. A ten year old playing Myst would have his brain a splode. :p
I have experience with this, having once been a thirteen year old playing myst.

The Incredible Machine 2. Best E game ever.

caesar III is teh pwnz0r!!! I was like 11-12 when I pwned teh newbzor Carthagians and that 1337 Hannibal. jokes aside, Caesar III is one of my fav games but its very strategical - not sure if the little chap can handle the might of Rome that early.

Oh man, this game was awesome! I used to play it in school a long time ago. When I was quite a few years younger, my dad bought me the cd of it for my PC, but when it ran, everything was turbocharged and essentially I couldn't play it. <sniffle>

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas...

He'll be speaking like a real OG Grove Street Gangsta in no time.

Ok, not that? Hows about Life and Death 2: The Brain on DOS?

I guess it really depends on what games he likes, you could put him on Counter-Strike: Source (cl_low_violence 1)

Try visiting this site for downloading old games

Oh and bliink: Are you thinking about the really old game called AlleyCat ? Where you jump into windows and do stuff, and can get caught by a dog if you fall down on the ground?

That was a great game.

Games like Diablo 2, Final fantasy games and Baudurs gate games are great.

Haha, its nice to know that I am not alone in Loving Monkey Island. All 4 of them. Hell, I even had the first one on 3by5's.
Yea, Monkey Island is good for all ages.
There are also some sonic games that are fun for PC.
Freedom Force mebby, possibly.

Escape Velocity

If he has windows- Escape Velocity: Nova

small 70mb DL (surprising very much so) and free for 30 days (after 30 days an invincible ship kills you all the time nonstop. haha)

Google it, you won't regret it probably even yourself.

Rofl, I had played that way before I was even 10.

With cheats, of course. ;) I don't think the game was possible without them!
