[HELP NEEDED] Problems in HL2DM

hey guys nice to meet you all! i'm new here, call me zenna
i had the clean copy of the Half Life 2 Deathmatch from Steam from free(due to the NVidia promotion with Portal and L4D2 Demo)

everything was fine including the download and install
until when i'm in a game

the ammo pickup indicator indicates that my ammo for a particular weapon is full, in spite that the shotgun ammo is actually empty

any help and comments would help

oh okay the steam method thanks, any way else to verify it? with MD5 checksum check?

nope still the same, even though with all the GCF files extracted and play it as a standalone still the same thing

why the hell would you extract the GCF files and play standalone? unless they were already extracted because it's pirated.

nope, not pirated, got it from Steam
deleted and downloading it again
and is it just because it's free that's why that problem occurred? LOL
