Help picking a Broadband ISP, UK

Hi. i have dialup...
its teribble mosty everyone had it first and then they moved on.
its my turn to move on, but i cant find a decent cheap ISP for my broadband. Im not a rich person and im not poor either but id like a decent broadband for like £20 with no download limit. Is there any broadband company you know which could give me broadband for £20 or under? i have a Telewest line at the moment. we are gonna get a BT line. Please post the name,speed,price of the broadband please help..I DONT WANT DIALUP ANYMORE!!!

You can get 512k unlimited for £21 or if you can choose to have a download limit and get for even cheaper, down to around £15.

I'm on their 1mb unlimited and can not fault them.

If I were you i would avoid companies like BT, Wanadoo etc.

Whats wrong with Telewest's broadband, Blueyonder, then?

Only £25 a month for 1Mbit, unlimited downloading and full usenet access.

Personally I have 2Mbit for £35 and have found it great, it started off as 1Mbit but they upgraded it to 1.5Mbit and recently to 2Mbit free of charge.

Agreed. I have had BT and AOL and now i have NTL 1MB. I have never had any problems with NTL. Also BT'S 512k doesn't download fast compared to NTL'S 600k.

my mum wants me to get that but i been saying NO because...ages ago i used to have aol on dialup and ive been using it since version 6-8
then i just got so fed up with being disconnected from their service i join telewest who are much better.

You may laugh but have a look at tesco broadband. Its 512k down 256k up and only costs £19.97pm with NO download limits at all! Connection is also free as is the broadband modem. A good friend of mine recently got it and says its a very good service! Since its a pay monthly service you can easily switch services if you dont like it.

Damn I always though you english people had better broadband than we did, I only pay 24,- euros (17,47 pounds) for an 1mb connection and I could go as low as 20,- (14,56 pounds)
