Help Please - Garry's Mod - Server Help

Can someone please help me?

It's about Garry's Mod......

I made a server right? I clicked on "Create Server" and after everything loaded, i looked in the Internet Server List to see if my server isent there right? Then after then that i waited about 15 min, i looked back and it still isent there. So i went in console and typed in "sv_lan 0" but when i looked back it still wasent there. But when i look at the Lan Server List my server was there. I want my server to go to Internet Server List so people could come into my server, but when i make a server it goes to lan all the time, i dont want it to go to lan. Can someone please help me and give me some suggestions on how i can make a server so it can go to the Internet Server List?

I had the same problem. I think making a dedicated server is better. I can't remember how to do it though - I think you have to copy the garrysmod folder and put the copy into the dedicated server folder, then open the Play Game folder of steam, right click on Source Dedicated server, then click launch options, then add

-game garrysmod -maxplayers 4 -console +map gm_construct

to it.

ok dude, i did everything u told me to do. But there's one problem, after i put those stuff in the options, i open Source Dedicated Server. But there's a problem, that problem is that Source Dedicated Server opens Command Prompt. Is it suppose to do that?

Yes. Source Dedicated Server is just that, a server (not the game). If you want to play the game on your own server (on the computer running the server), just run hl2dm and connect to your server's ip (or use 127.0.0.1) like you would any other Internet server.

you can type 'connect 127.0.0.1' in the hl2dm console
