I was trying to install a new game I bought, and all the sudden my drive was not working !?!?!

I tried it like 4 times it starts to load it on autoplay then it just wont install.

I tried a different disk ,, ALL my disks, like half way read !?!?!

I thought my cd-rom drive broke so i put it a new one , AND ALL MY CD_ROM DRIVEST DOTHE SAME THING !?!?!

Most of my games will like semi-load or sometimes it just make some funny noise and not play anything?????

NOW it doesnt play DVD, burn CD's, or play burnt CD's, sometimes it loads a regular cd.. BUT NOT OFTEN !?!?!

HELP ME PLEASE

Maybe you need a new CD Drive. Sounds like maybe this one is dying.

I have tried 6 different drives ...they all work the same way :dozey:

Throw the old one out the window and go buy a new one.

Shut your PC down, make sure the cables are plugged in all the way on the back of the drive and to your mainboard.
Turn your PC back on.

Donno what it could be.

go to start > programs > accessories > system tools > system restore

restore to the earliest point before you installed the game.

then you can try again, but if that doesn't work try tech support with the company that made the game

i had a similar problem where i installed ghost recon then everytime afterwords whenever i tried installing pretty much anything it'd go through the install process but never actually install. the system restore fixed my problem.

I have tried that like 8 times ???
I biult my own PC and i know it is all correctly pluged in and all my devices are set to master and slaves properly ....

umm...sestym restore...its has been about 5 weeks since this started happening???

there should be a check point that far back as long as you have system restore enabled. it will be a pain in the ass obviously as every app you've installed since the check point will be removed but that's the only thing i can think of.

i'd seek more professional help though, such as the makers of your drives.
