Help Stuck

I'm stuck in the start of the game i get off the train i go through and through and yata yata talk to barney in the room and then i go on keep going and going now i am in the court yard and there is i think 3 access gates but i can't get in i see people walking in and out how do i get in to start the Game ??????????? I must be stupid and probably simple anybody give me a hint ? Thanks In advance

The gates are locked. You have to find an alternate path.

There is an short alleyway (blocked by a wall) with a catwalk above. Hop on a dumpster and climb the ladder to find your way across.
