I hear more and more people playing cs 1.6 again then source so...
A remake of cs 1.6 on source engine but with the same 'crappy' graphics cs 1.6 has got and add ragdoll and weapon physics and update bug fixes that there are now in cs 1.6.
Well thats also a thing low pc specs and still can enjoy the fun of source...
the '1337' cs players of cs 1.6 dont play for graphics...
Not that im such a person but graphics dont have to be good for a fun game.

Features:
-----------
* Ragdoll Physics & Weapon physics
* Shadows
* Same Maps , Same Weapons , Same Characters and exact Same Gameplay like cs 1.6 (cs:s does feel different).
* Bloodspots on player when hit.
* And bug fixes of bugs in cs 1.6

So I'm looking for some few people who can make the mod happen and that the old Counter-Strike is still up to date so maybe the people of who play cs 1.6 that gonna switch to this...
Cheers...

Good concept, but won't get off the ground.

So what you're saying is that you want to remake CS 1.6 and also take the time to intentionally make the graphics worse, because that somehow adds something to the game.

You're also saying that the "1337" players don't play CS for the graphics, but they will play your version because it has ragdoll physics and the other minor not-really-gameplay-affecting physics functions that the source engine offers.

Neither of those make sense. Try to come up with something original.

Yea, even if it sounds harsh or... well anyway I completly agree with Cyanide.

Don't listen to people like that. If you have a goal set in your mind for a mod and you can get a dedicated team, you can make things like this happen.

It's the people like everyone above me and the probable rush of people replying to this below me that cause good ideas to never be realized.

i agree somewhat with pc nerd, if you have your mind set on it do it, but i personally dont agree with your idea. why spend the time reducing gfx. i used to be one of those players that played cs nonstop, played competitive and all that. but if you want that feel of 1.6 in source make it, but dont do it with worse gfx. i dont know much about cs:s to know the differences, but im not sure that youll get the whole cs 1.6 community to come to your mod, or much at all.

yea ok ... thanks for the response but i still need help with the project lol...

if this doesn't work out then a counter strike single player game like condition zero:deleted scenes would be a better idea i suggest

The bottom line:

You can't. Counterstrike isn't open source, you can't edit the code.

That's a good point. If you want to remake Counter Strike you'll have to recode the entire game wich is a huge task. And if you don't know anything about Modding except mapping then nobody will want to make a MOD for you.

The best thing would be that you learn every aspects of modding by yourself, then make a good, clear design doc that will explain your ideas and then come back and post them. I say that because I've seen too much people come on these forums and say : Hey I have a uber idea, [name of a game] was so great i'm gonna remake it but it's gonna be better!!!. Those guys have no ideas of what is involved in making a huge MOD like that and of course 2 weeks later the MOD is dead because they can't do anything and nobody wants to help.

Very true. :) You can probably guess mine.

How've you been Six?

Very good. Still mad about that redeemer incident awhile ago? :)

Like to see how you get HL1 graphics but with HL2 physics...

Decompile the model you want, open in Xsi, import the HL1 model over the old model, resize so it fits as close to the source model as possible, delete the source model, and voila (though there are more steps I just forgot :p)
