hi, i wasnt sure where to put this, but i figured the coding forum would be the best.
im have some dumb ad-ware called SurfSideKick. my anti-virus/adware/spyware cant remove it, and i cant remove it manually because it is constantly being used by the explorer.exe process. so, i thought i could open the .dll file and delete some code and then save the changes to screw it up. however, when i open it in notepad, i can't save the changes as .dll

so my question is how can i open it and remove the code and save the changes, or - how can i get this thing off my PC!

1. Wrong forum
2. Use Firefox
3. You can easily kill the explorer.exe process without any problems
4. It's not a good idea to try to modify the dll or only delete that file because other stuff is installed (files and keys in the registry).
5. When you want to run your spyware removal tools to remove those nasty spywares, run them in safe mode.
6. ScanSpyware as well as other anti-spywares programs can remove it easily.
7. http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=74266 or http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic9549.html or http://www.spyany.com/program/article_adw_rm_SurfSideKick.html for a full procedure.
