Help...

Hi there peoplez. Um I'm just getting half-life 2... I've also seen alot of videos on Youtube and was wondering what is this Garry's mod thing(or something like that) and where to get it. Also what dose it do exactly. I mean what is it? Some kind of sandbox or something? All help will be appreciated.:cheers:

Well, Gmod is a sandbox game that lets you use models to do a variety of things. It's best experienced, though.

There's the free version, Gmod 9~

so whats the big difference bettween the gmod 9 and 10? More stuff or what?

gmod 9 was made and completed before episode 1 even came out. It's a rickety construction set at best and things that are "welded" together can often bug out. but hey, it's free and the npc spawning is fun

Gmod 10 (which i REALLY wish I had and recommend it) is constantly updated with valve's updates to their engine - l4d, the orange box - and also Garry's own updates to the game, which are amazing. If you are living alone and are in control of your money, BUY IT. it's 10$! if you live with your parents (like me) and aren't in control if the cash, ask the better parent for it at the right time and you might get a higher chance. Don't forget to include that it's cheap.

Gmod 10 is so much better.

Also, with online play there are different game modes, like Survival, DarkRP, and a personal favourite, Sledbuild.

okay plz! Lets see if you can help me out on this one, Now im trying to download addons to garrys mod(now that i have it p.s. gmod10) and the instructions say to extract the files and put them in gmods folder. Now here comes the problem, there is no folder by that name or gmod or anything, not even a half life 2 and yes i know i have it ive been playing it for half my day... Soooo what do i do?

I think addons go in steamapps\<user>\garrysmod\garrysmod\addons

I saw no point in this.

It really depends on what kind of addon you're.. adding. I think models just go straight into the gmod folder, while actual addons go into the addons folder.

Okay i got that now i've seen videos on youtube were they have diffrent characters... how do i change mine?
