I want to know why being friends with a girl is supposedly a mistake.

Because women are emotionally ****ed up; they don't think like we do. Plus there really is always that sex element to it. I've been good friends with 2 girls in recent years and it never lasted; some crazy shit always ended up happening.

There are plenty of crazy and ****ed up guys no doubt, who said there weren't? But we are talking about friendships here. Guys communicate with guys on one level, they communicate with chicks on another. If you are friends with a girl there is a 99% chance that you will want to sleep with her. And for sure you'll want to hook up with their friends. This makes the friendship awkward as that sexual tension is always there. I lived with a girl which was just a friend for a number of years so I am not talking out of my ass here. Even though we were just friends we would get in stupid arguments that I would never have with my guy friends. And when alcohol got involved we would do things that crossed the friendship line.

In terms of girl friends sure they are your best friends; but that sexual tension is no longer there and the crazy is managable since you're getting laid.

Of course, nobody's perfect, but it's quite ridiculous that you blame your inability to connect with anyone of the opposite sex in a non-sexual manner on women rather than yourself.
