HEV Suit

Okay, I was pondering the thought of the HEV suit rechargers and batteries that were found at Black Mesa. It makes sense that they were there but now, how is this all going to work in City 17? I doubt there would batteries for an HEV suit laying around a city that would have no use for them or a charger station. How is this going work? I am sure there will be medical kits but this just stuck out the most.

Hmmm, good question. Maybe those freedom fighters will have something that requires power, so you'll find stuff to recharge armor near the dead bodies like you do in Blue Shift. As for the chargers, my guess is the the Combine has them for their soldiers and you'll be able to use them. Like maybe inside some troop transports of something.

I'm thinking that maybe soldiers you fight along side or against may use some sort of powered armor like the HEV and you can adapt your HEV to use their form of power. Either that or the G-man hooks you up with a huge stash of D-size batteries.

Well the Op4 marines used power armor, and there definitly is/was military presence in City 17, so you may be able to top of from chargers or dropped batteries.

Well it is the (near) future. Perhaps batteries have been standardized somewhat. Maybe you be able to take them off the combine. Perhaps you will occasionally come across a stash of combine goodies (e.g. - a truck containing a few weapons and batteries). Or maybe you'll loot bodies for cellphones, electric toothbrushes...I dunno.


Oh, and Snowball, I think that attachment is used for plugging into Alyx.

I always assumed it was available because in the video we also see a buggy with a tau cannon and that probably wasn't just what gordon brought along as a camping tool.

Maybe you can't recharge it and you get a new one whenever possible in the game? Or maybe it recharges "predator-style" as in Predator recharges his health points AvP.

Well since HL2 is based in a city, you have to loot abandonded stores for batteries and power.

Or maybe the other combine soldiers use the same power supply as you? It's possible, since the marines in Op For also used chargers and whatnot to power their body armour...
