I want to ask all you HL2 fans out there a serious question...


Is it me or is Halo 2 supposed to be better than HL2, i mean so many fan boys have argued with me on ther forums saying that Half-life 2 has no storylines, but Halo can use 2 weapons at once

Honestly, I feel tired off all the newbies joining the forum, eager to play with the big boys and creating a new thread to do so. It's a pain in the ass.
 
Game vs Game threads don't really serve any purpose. Some people are going to prefer Halo 2, and some are going to prefer Half-Life 2.

Surprisingly enough, a lot of the latter type read these forums.

I'll probably get both, but it could be a while till Halo 2 comes out on the PC.

i have so many stories of these fanboys, one is someone saying "Halo 2 will flush Half-sucks 2 down the toilet! I went to e3 and e4 and i played halo 2 and it was awsome! Half life 2 isnt even playable and doom 3 sux as well. You are redarted Danimal!!!!!!!11"

Does anyone else have silly stories of halo fan boys?

Sure, Halo is a very playable game but it's really no big deal. I like Halo and I will probably like Halo 2. But, Half-Life 2 will be better. And your little Halo 2 fan boy can't say anything about HL2 since he couldn't play it...

I am not saaying that Halo will be the worst game i am saying it is annoying how people think that Half-life 2 will be like that... heck some of the stuff in halo is pretty entertaining

But i better get straight to the horse's mouth

i was previuosly saying that alot of people who are really really hyped up about halo shoudnt take it out on other games that they have not played before

I apologise for making this thread as i have realised the mistake i made, the people i have offended dont need to worry as i will not add or be involved in this thread from now

It's not really a mistake, but seeing as this is a Half-Life 2 forum there's only one way this thread will go. Exactly the same if you were to make a similar one on a Halo 2 forum.

We like HL2, they like Halo 2. We'll defend HL2, they'll defend Halo 2.

Doesn't Halo2 use the same engine as Halo, but with new normal maps or something?

On Topic: I have never understood the whole liking one game and bashing others mentality. Even if you somehow only have enough money for one game, why talk about a competitor like it is a bad game, when clearly to compete, it has to be good?

Doom3 wasn't a bad game but some people say it sucks just because it didn't live up to expectations and may not be as fun as HL2 will be.
 
Basically yeah, its annoying when fanboys come in here to tell us how HL2 is gonna suck and how Halo 2 is gonna be the best game ever made. (Ala see Master Chief's topic in Gaming forums)

I just wish to see their faces when Halo 2 doesnt live up to the hype.

I find it very sad that people insist on arguing about games, if you consider yourself somone who acctully gives a crap you will probbally end up buying both anyway, I got farcry played it enjoyed it, I got doom3 played it enjoyed it, I will get Half-Life 2 play it (enjoy it alot me has to admit :D).

To be honest, Im just glad we finnally have a few decent games to compare, to many years have gone by with rehashes and tiny advancements of the same old half-life and halo clones.

And on a side note, I really want a game that doesnt involve an underground faccility being attacked with lots of alarms and emergancy sirens.. far to many of these levels popping up in FPS games.

Halo 2 is ONLY a console game...
 
That is not correct Xilema... Halo was first a console only game but then it was released on PC. It will probably be the case of Halo 2 too.:bounce:

Actually, first it was a PC game, but then Microsoft bought Bungie and made it an exclusive X-box game. The sneaky buggers. All us PC gamers got was a buggy, from the ground up version Gearbox had to do a few years later.

Besides, he was talking about Halo 2, not Halo. Halo 2 is only a console game. :p

Well, they might release it on PC...but I wouldn't expect anything for like 3 years after Halo 2 has been on the Xbox.
 
Halo players have a closed mind, they've probably never touched a PC game nor have the money to buy a PC. They haven't been enlightened yet.
 
Console FPS.....
Never understood them...

How can they even wash the feet of the PC FPS? They have inferior controls for movement and aiming (not for RPGs or anything, but focus here is FPS) as such they have to have an inferior enemy set ortherwise you couldn't shoot them in time etc.

I don't understand how RTS, and FPS can even be played on a console to a level of skill that makes it intresting.

Well to each their own I guess
 
Halo was overrated imo. I played the PC version and it's just the same over and over again... The same kind of enemies run to you in the same environments... boooringgg.

Also, I can't seem to find out how you can easily play it on a console. You have to walk with one stick, look with the other one, and shoot with another finger. Guess this needs some training, but either way I just suck too hard or it totally sucks. If you want a bit of strafing, looking around, and have some action, this doesn't work.

Metroid Prime hasn't got that much fighting scenes and it worked pretty well.
 
If Halo 2 comes out for PC I'll buy it. Could be a while though.
 
From what I saw of halo on the PC I won't be bothering with an xbox or halo2(should it ever make it to PC).

However just because it's on a console doesn't make it a crap game- admitedly most FPS I have played on console have been awkward and sluggish btu not all, for instance Timesplitters 1+2 on ps2 were brilliant and quite easy to control, also can anyone say GOLDENEYE :p
 
...not forgetting perfect dark either.

i wasnt a big fan of halo.. maybe becuase i played it years after its xbox release when it finally came out on pc. i just didnt think it wasnt all that impressive... maybe for a console shooter its amazing, but not on the pc.

if halo 2 does get ported to the pc, i really hope they dont fag it up and port it properly... because the halo 2 mutliplayer does actually look v.nice!

but still at the end of the day, halo is HIGHLY overrated. probably because its practically the only half decent game on the xbox.
 
This is a pointless argument. All of us are HL2 fans and those other people you were talking about are Halo 2 fans. You do know that nothing that you say will EVER make the Halo 2 fans change their minds to Half-life 2. Just like the Halo 2 fans will not make you change your mind from Half-life 2 to Halo 2. Everyone has their own thing..so let them be. The ONLY way we will change from HL2 to Halo 2 is to actually play the game and decide for ourselves. We can't trust what other people say about it cause they don't know about it....that also goes for you trying to explain to the Halo 2 fans why HL2 is so much better. They will NEVER listen or trust any of us because they like Halo 2. They have to play HL2 before they make up their minds. Just like we have to play Halo 2 before we make up our minds.
