This is for a personal project I'm working on. I'm also going to try to use this to create a normal map for a low poly version. I'm trying to get a sort of exaggerated realism thing, think a comic book character but real looking (hopefully hehe).
Currently I'm skinning him, which is taking awhile (keep getting annoying problems just when I think I'm on the home straight).

Anyway, here are a couple of images (some tweaking has been done since I made these quick renders, but nothing major).

Hmm. What reference pics did you use? I saw a picture of a male on the internet and he looked different.

The male is incurate in some ways, but it seems very nicly done. You seem to be able to make a good model but your reaserch needs some work. Make sure you actually know what something looks like before you jump into modelling it. Very good work imo.

As I said, it is a kind of exaggerated realism. I did plenty of research, and the model fits in to the reference pictures I used (below). I looked at photos of bodybuilders, human anatomy diagrams and basically incorporated them together. The reference pictures were a bit too exaggerated for what I wanted, so I toned the model down a bit. I'll do texturing and clothing etc. once I finish skinning him (if that ever happens, damn annoying wierd problems).
And also some areas have already been fixed, I just haven't rendered since them. The shoulder area has been improved, the head mad a bit larger, chest toned down a bit, as have the arms, ear has been tweaked some more. Not major stuff, so I didn't bother making renders, it isn't much different to look at.

Hehe. I was inspired by the work at www.panzar.com , they are doing more of a blizzard type exagerrated realism thing. Y'know, little head, huge arms, round belly but it looks fantastic. I have made good progress with the skinning (bah that shoulder area is tricky) but have some kinks to work out, so hopefully I will have some test animations in the near future.

i think if you want to make it realistic, he should have some type of way to procreate...

A couple of wireframe renders. There are some deformations due to some of the mesh moving a bit when assigned to bones, and only one side is currently in the process of being skinned.

nice, looks a bit like a muscley version of Jimmy Hill, if I dont say so myself

The only things bothering me at first glance are the knees (they look a bit long and maybe bent inward) and the face (I'm not sure what the problem is, but I'm thinking either something with the structure of the chin/cheek/jaw area or the brow).

u shuold make him have no shirt, a mullet, and a red headband and some black pants and make a big machine gun for him and have him be rambo... that would be an awesome model

that is so cool, how do you even begin to model something taht complex? that is just flat out awesome what you made there

Where's his dick? He doesn't have genitals.

He doesn't need any since I'm not doing animated porn or nudity (notice where I said I'd add clothing later). And I have no personal interest in modelling them since they wouldn't be seen anyway.
