Highest HL2 resolution

When HL2 first came out, I formatted my whole computer so it would run fresh, reinstalled windows and catalyst drivers etc. Then my brother and I went to play the game and although we were playing fine on 1600x1200, we noticed the resolution in the game options went all the way up to 2178x1600, or something like that (ive never seen a game give such a high option before).. We put it like that just for a few minutes for fun and it looked ridiculous...

Thing is, I just tried to do the same thing yesterday, and now its showing the highest resolution as 1600x1200. What gives..?

I bought a new system and I was hoping to be able to run it in that highest resolution... but now it aint even coming up..?

Are you using a diffrent monitor? Monitors are usually what restricts your resolution.

Sounds like it was designed for two screens, lol
