Yeah babies, yeah. That's all I can say. I think I have the crappiest fps what so ever.

Specs:

P4 1600Mhz
512MB RAM
ATi RADEON 9800PRO w. catalyst 4.7 (does not matter really since I've tried all of the drivers)

Settings in Counter-Strike: Source:
See attached image (there's the fun part)

Now I want to ask this question:

WHY in the name of God do I have so crappy FPS? You can _NOT_ blame the CPU, since I run CS1.6 and CS:CZ with the same FPS rate, I have played CS1.6 and CS:CZ WITH 101 FPS BEFORE SO IT HAS TO DO SOMETHING WITH MY COMP :|

I have tried to tweak, everything on low, still get 42.7 fps in VST / 15-25 fps in CS:Source

THIS IS MAKING ME SICK. WHY IS IT LIKE THIS? WHAT SHALL I DO? I have reinstalled my whole computer, I have reinstalled my gfx card xxx times, I've done everything except for the right thing. So what is the right thing?!

Can someone, please in the name of God, help me out!? This is making me sick :(

Also, my GFX card is not OC'ed, the temp is normal etc etc.

Thanks.

P.S. Please don't laugh :(

are you joking about asking if this is a joke?

yeesh, my computer has crappier specs than yours

but then again, this is a BETA

meh, I wouldn't worry about it

Drivers, and turn up all the things to high and leave aa and filter off, play with that for awhile and after 5-6 mins your comp should run fine.

it does look mega poo and i would have thought i would look better with that spec, i have no idea why it looks so bad tho

i don't understand why compare CZ and CS1.6 with source. That's a different engine.I see that your CPu is a little too slow 1,6GHz hmm maybe it's the problem,or try to install Catalyst 4,8.I have PIV 1,8 , Radeon 9600XT 256 MB, 256Bit,512DDR333 and Catalyst 4,8.HL2 Benchmark gives me average 45 FPS.CS:Source was jumpy at the begining but later all was smooth.I play on 1024 all details High ,no antialias.I know that when i convert my HDD to FAT32 it will be faster.Maybe you have some things working in background Antivir or something...just play a 2 or 4 minutes and you'll see what happen.(high details)

I have the same specs as estling except a 2ghz processor, I run at all high, 1280x1024 with aa and filter off with a SOLID 60fps, so there is no reason your comp should run that back.

Judging by the picture, you should have better image quality not higher FPS.

Whats so ******* wrong with 27 FPS?

wow actually i don't even know what fps i have in CS:Source lol i must check it out

why would anyone compare a 5 year old game to CS:S?

I have the same problems...

I have 20-30 fps until I actually see soeone then it drops to 17.
wtf?

P4 2Ghz 512
Radeon 9800 pro.

what can I do?

Something is your comp is screwing with it. Try hittin control alt delete and closing all apps you dont need. also disable virus scanner etc.

First turn off all AA and AF by going to the "3D" tab under the ATI control panel. Then scan your system for spyware using adaware.

something wrong dude, i have a radeon 9000 and its runs 54 fps average, but when i get to the tunnel its goes gdown to 17fps with all the action.

People, you can turn off FSAA and trillinear filtering and all that crap.
And turning off shadows and dynamic lighting and etc... would help.
That is if you don't care about realism.
That way, you can have high detail textures and resolution.
By the way, can anyone give a pic of all the options in the graphics menu?

No, the crappiest FPS is my old computer, which handles an amazing 1-2fps. :D It handles 30fps in CS and CZ :p

I have Radeon 9800 Pro, these are my settings:

Catalyst 4.8
SP2
DirectX 9.0c

Direct3d Tab
-----------------
Set it on Custom
Set both AA and AF to Application Preference
Set Vertical Sync to Always Off
TRUFORM - Always Off

SmartGART tab
-----------------
AGP 8x
Fastwrite - On

VPU Recover - On

CS:S
-----------------
All settings max (4xAA/16xAF), Vsync Off

I get perfectly acceptable FPS, 70-90fps 1280x768.

Oh, and I have no spyware or adware on my computer. :)

Hmm this may sound stupid but restart the cpu with all startup apps disabled, it will help a bit. Use MSconfig ;)

The picture that I showed you is a fps-config for CS:Source, so you will have better fps. ... Everything in that config is off, no fog, no lightning, no 3dsky, no nothing.

ATM I have it all on high in CS:Source, and I play for 1 hour with the settings and I still have low fps :( But again, it's a beta, but when everyone else is running good on high, I surley must run very good on a crappy fps-config ;D

hmm looks like ur cpu is causing the poor performance, I have 9800 pro & athlon 2500 all high quality settings 40-75fps in game. dunno about the stress test havnt got it.

hahahahahaha.....

sorry.....I have a 9100 pro, I have the settings on medium and I get 50 fps......hahahaha!

I have the same cpu and graphic card as you and I get average 25 FPS. GRRR!!

And in the stress test with 1280x1024 high settings no AA/AF I got 49 FPS but on 640x480 lowest settings I got a whopping FPS of 60? WTF?
