Right now, no. After going through some of the Steam files, credit cards seem to be the only method of paying right now. Valve has not announced any plans for selling prepaid cards in gaming stores yet.

If you have a checking account you might be able to get a debit card, which can be used like a credit card. It's actually better, usually there are no fees. It just draws funds from your checking account.

This is a very good point. He said it would be released on the 30th. That does not mean you get to play it right there and then. I for one would not mind being able to download ahead of time which they said they also are going to allow. that brings me one step close to half-life2 and then it will be availkable to play very soon thereafter.....I think thats how they are going to go so they dont break contract with VU with letting them play early. great point smithgdwg!!!
