Eidos have given us a release date for the new Hitman game at last!

San Francisco, CA - April 12, 2006 - Eidos Interactive, one of the world's leading publishers and developers of entertainment software, today confirms that Hitman: Blood Money will be released in North America on May 30 for the Xbox 360 and Xbox video game and entertainment systems from Microsoft, PlayStation2 computer entertainment system and PC. Hitman: Blood Money was developed by IO Interactive and is the latest installment in the notorious assassination series.

According to gamespot themselves:

As with UK-based Eidos' other recent release, Tomb Raider: Legend, the game will be released four days earlier in Europe.

Here's to hoping it has more from Hitman 2 in it than Hitman: Contracts

AmishSlayer, seen the previews that go through the new gameplay? It sounds like they've almost entirely redone the game(play) to me, we'll have to wait and see tho.:) I read a great preview on IGN..

But wasn't that the biggest complaint about Contracts... that it was too much like Hitman 2 and not different enough to be considered more than an expansion pack? :|

Well that's kinda what I meant. More originality than Contracts. Contracts was just redone Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 levels pretty much.

Should of been a PC exclusive, screw the consoles.

chu, lol, go away you hater.:p
Hitman 2 was developed on both the console and the PC simultaneously and I thought Hitman 2 was pretty damn good..
Oh and only to annoy you.
Should've been a console exclusive, screw teh PCz0rz! lolz!

I don't give a crap whether the game gets panned in reviews like the other three, it's just damn good fun to play regardless of its niggles. There should be a PC demo released before then, as an Xbox demo has been released in OXM UK - it's a very early build and the tutorial mission though, so it's very linear. Bad, bad move for a demo.

I really hope there's more levels like my favorite one in Hitman 2.

You start in this office building that has very tight security. There's plenty of ways you can sneak in.

You can:

-Plant a smoke bomb in the basement through a laundry chute and get a fireman's suit and sneak downstairs with them, split off and do your objectives

-Become a pizza boy and deliver your pizza to your objective before you kill him

-If I remember right you can get there by dropping any metallic weapons you have down the chute and walking through the metal detectors unmolested

-Or if you're in an angry mood you can shoot everybody in sight and blast your way down there.

I've always liked how there's numerous ways to do every mission. Also, even though it was horribly unrealistic...I LOVED blasting people against walls with my silenced ballers or watch them go FLYING when I empty my clips into them.

Hmmm... *goes to dig up Hitman 2*

Amish, that's basically the concept they've used for every level in BM. There's no more stupid infiltrate army base/middle-eastern complex/japanese fortress missions, they're all set in America and all involve killing someone within a social gathering or public area. This is why I'm very excited indeed.

Awesome.

Those other missions you mentioned are the ones I didn't like. I didn't think the whole fortress/complex setting was any good so I'm glad it's gone. I was okay if some missions were in other countries. Well, if they're like the 1st mission in Hitman 1 - do a hit in a public park and get out. The foreign areas have to be done right though. I didn't like the middle-east in Hitman 2.

Exactly. It felt less like you were a hitman and more like a spy or something. Contracts went back to the concept of smaller, confined hits within believible environments, and that's why I enjoyed it more.

may 30?!
lame.
thought it was gonna be out this month

Blood Money is really setting the standard high. I like how they're "forcing" you into being more of a hitman now instead of going guns blazing. Now, it'll be quite difficult doing just that. The levels look amazing, the detail, the models, all of it. Should be a good time.

And Contracts was fun as hell n_n.

Yeah, Contracts felt more realistic in terms of missions than Hitman 2, I hated all those kill-crazy osama bin laden-wannabe missions.:p
